Devolution here,

I think it's time to spice things up, a little debate and a little something to make us say "man I should have thought of that!"

Not the best song ever and I'm sure I'll pick a better one BUT

My favorite song that opens any movie is....

Neutron Dance by The pointer sisters for Beverly Hills Cop 1.

BRING IT ON!!!

I love the opening theme to "Author Author" w' Al Pacino. It's the sappiest song you'll ever hear, ie..."coming home to you is like coming home to milk and cookies....", but it really seems to capture the 80's spirit....kinda sounds like the intro to every 80's sitcom....check it out.

I like 'All The Right Moves' the song that starts the film with the same name. Pretty cool.

Black Rain also has a cool song called 'I'll Be Holding On' when Michael douglas is riding his bike into New York.

Holiday Road opening up the first Vacation film. Catchy and gets you into the wild spirit of what's to come.

The Crystals' "Then He Kissed Me" in "Adventures in Babysitting".

Chris! Awesome! Now I have Holiday road stuck in my head. I would have to say that is my favorite as well. And James Andrews, all the right moves might be #2 for me. I also enjoy Back to the Future, Back in time.

Great Topic

Objection! This song ends the movie, it doesn't start it.

Objection upheld. Proceed.

Finally, a fellow fan. Can you believe that on a metal site I visit someone started a poll on the best rock movie ever made and didn't even include this one? No, me neither...gits!

I have since enlightened the young fellow though...

Some great choices up above with Vacation, Fast Times, Adventures in Babysitting, Back to the Future, etc. (as a kid, I used to rewind the "Power of Love" opening from BTTF over and over on the VCR)

Other favorites...

"Don't You Forget About Me" by Simple Minds from The Breakfast Club

"Something To Remember Me By" from Three O'Clock High

and a guilty pleasure...

The Revenge of the Nerds Theme

Hey, Devolution! Did you know that Journey also provided the song "Only Solutions" for the 1982 Disney CG movie 'Tron'? Their other musical contribution to the film was an instrumental track called "1990's Theme". Both tracks appear on the Tron CD soundtrack which was released in 2002 for Tron's 20th anniversary.

Devolution here,

They also have the closing song to White Water Summer (1985) "Be Good To Yourself" which is the last song on the greatest hits album.

Speaking of White water summer.

The Wild Frontier - Bruce Hornsby and the Range, is an awesome opening song.

I don't know the title of it and its just an instrumental but the opening to Somekind of Wonderful with the drum beat start sets the tone for the film
