I hate having to give the big supermarkets credit (especially Tesco) but I purchased The Karate Kid yesterday on DVD from Asda AKA Walmart for a mere £3.00!

They also had part III for the same price but no sign of II though!

Yo peeps purchased Jumpin' Jack Flash for £3.00 from ASDA today!

Just out of interest how do the UK (ASDA) prices compare to the US (WAL-MART) prices, as there are huge reductions on older DVD's in the UK at the minute is it a world wide trend I wonder!

Walmart always has DVD's on sale from $1.00 to about $8.00 US. About 2 to 16 Pounds...

Posted by Mire Mare (Member # 5900) on :

Hi Jdocster04 they have racks of bargain DVD's to for 99p (50 cents) but are not very good (normally those made for TV afternoon drama types) but there does seem to be an influx of good quality classics at the moment at under a £5.00!

By the way it is your economy that's currently gone **** up as it is almost 2 USD to 1GBP so 1.00USD - 8.00USD is actually about 50p - 4.00GBP!

Not a good time to come to the UK unless you are a particularly rich American!

MM,

How do most Brits view Americans in general these days? Do you like us or are there things you don't like about us? Have you met many Americans? Have you been across the pond?

Cheers!

I cant speak for all Brits but I like Americans on the whole, I personally have been to New York, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Arizona and did spend six months backpacking down through Florida from Fort Lauderdale to Key West oh and I also got married in Las Vegas in 1999!

So I do have some experience dealing with you bad boys!

I wont go into the whole America taking over the world debate or my own beliefs in The devil incarnate Bush thing!

Most Americans that I have met do have a fairly blinkered view of the world and it seems as long as you are told that you are winning regardless of wheter it is indeed the truth or not it tends to keep you happy!

Blacks get poorer Whites get richer, guns get bigger, love thy neighbour, shoot thy neighbour! (sorry bit of a poet and to much COPS!)

I am always amazed on how you view the UK according to every American I have ever spoke to London is England apparently everybody in the UK lives just in or around London, Stratford Upon Avon, Windsor & Edinburgh are all 5 minutes from London!

There seems to be a certain level of ignorance or indeed arrogance regarding the true geography of the UK where most Americans are concerned!

Also why is it you always have some ancestor who was a Scottish lord?

Apart from that I love the current exchange rate, Denny's, Wendy's, Chequer's, Reese's, Big old V8's, Mullets, Grape soda, Crack Cocaine, Gated Neighbourhoods and AK47's!

So tell me what is it like in Kansas Dorothy!

I like Americans a lot. In England, I think we tend to have the blinkered view that we are the last bastion of manners whereas Americans are loud, rude and obnoxious (and some who come to visit are I'm sure) -- but my experience has been quite the opposite.

Our two countries do have a lot of history together and I think we're a bit like brothers. A few fights over stuff, but when the sh*t goes down, we always are there for each other* --and that's the way I like it.

Note: *Brits sometimes need to refresh their modern history on this to know it's true but the Americans have been good friends to us in recent history but not everyone knows the truth on this.

Don't disagree with you Nick and I personally have met lots of nice Americans over the years & Spanish, French, German & Canadian for that matter!

MM,

"Also why is it you always have some ancestor who was a Scottish lord?"

FUNNY!!! In my case it's an Irish Lord... [Big Grin]

I love the British humor!!! I have to agree with you on several points having heard it from other people from all over the world; we do kind of have a "rose colored" view of the world sometimes. Just like the government wants us to... [Roll Eyes]

A couple of differences:

We don't all have guns, we don't all believe in guns, I DO have a gun, we don't all smoke crack but sometimes I wonder, mullets have been out for a while, I could never live in a gated community. Too many rules. I DO love my V8!

I will travel to Europe some day. I hope I run into people like you... You crack me up! I grew up in a house with parents that were raised in New England. People from New England are straight shooters, right to the point. It's refreshing. You know?

Cheers...

MM,

I forgot...

Your quote:
======================================================
I wont go into the whole America taking over the world debate or my own beliefs in The devil incarnate Bush thing!
======================================================

First off let me say that I'm a very patriotic American as I'm sure you're a very patriotic Brit. I believe in my country and it's people. I really do believe this is the best country in the world. Just as you must feel about yours. Not because we are better than anyone else, but because of the opportunities that we have in this country. I in NO WAY mean this to sound patronizing. I think that Great Britain is also as great country as are many others. Nick was right when he said that we are like brothers. In many ways, we really are. And I feel that Canadians are our brothers too. We don't always agree about the issues, but we are always there to help each other. Don't forget Australia and many more countries in the "free world"... One of the things I REALLY like about this website is that we can all come together from different countries as share a common interest.

That being said...

I think America does need to stop policing the world as well, and so do many Americans. Especially older Americans and (usually) the ones who have been sent into war. I think the main problem here is that we often go into countries, that is, we try to police countries, or in some cases like Iraq, go to war with some countries because it suits or interest. In this case, oil. Do you think if there was oil to be had in Darfur we wouldn't have gone in years ago to quash all of the violence in that country? Of course we would have. But of course many countries are guilty of this. The thing we can do as a people is vote the elected officials out of office who do things we don't agree with. Of course, it's easier said than done. Trying to talk reason to a population of over 270 million people is not an easy thing to do. We are very opinionated in this country. Most of the population doesn't vote or even take an interest in our "corrupt" political system. Sadly, most of us are sheeple.

Now, if I haven't offended all of my fellow Yanks... [Smile]

Your quote:
===============================================================
Blacks get poorer Whites get richer, guns get bigger, love thy neighbour, shoot `thy neighbour! (sorry bit of a poet and to much COPS!)
===============================================================

I better not touch this one...

Your quote:
===============================================================
I am always amazed on how you view the UK according to every American I have ever spoke to London is England apparently everybody in the UK lives just in or around London, Stratford Upon Avon, Windsor & Edinburgh are all 5 minutes from London!
===============================================================

It's shameful! We are just not taught what we need to know in our failing school system. We have fallen woefully behind the rest of the world. Do you know that in some polls that have been taken over here, a large portion of 'some' of our high school students can't find there own country on a map! One poll I read where they asked students to name the 50 states, a high percentage of these students named cities such as Chicago, Milwaukee, Boston etc as the names of states? In Kansas City, Missouri (where I live) the city has repeatedly lost their accreditation. I saw a documentary about people that come here from India to pursue higher education that they can't get in their country. These Harvard grads talked about how hard they studied to get into Harvard (one of our top schools, but you already knew that...). They spent years studying, going to school six and seven days a week to prepare, to 'prep' themselves for the vigors of a Harvard education. When they finally got into Harvard they couldn't believe how EASY it was! They said repeatedly how they breezed through the toughest courses getting straight A's in all of their courses. We have simply fallen behind...

Phew... I truly hope that I have not offended anybody with this little rant...

Hi jdocster04 I am glad you have taken it in the spirit it was meant!

In this day an age you really have to be able to laugh at yourself without getting to uptight!

As for the UK unfortunately it is slowly sinking into the abyss!

Once upon a time I would have stood and been counted for my country now I am embarrassed by it as we are but the mere whipping boy of a bigger evil!

Again we seem to have this glossy Great British image which is unfortunately only masking the real problems of this country, that's why tourist are encouraged to only go to certain places in the UK i.e. London, Stratford upon Avon, Windsor & Edinburgh, so they can control the environment and give the right impression!

In comparison you really don't see much tourism elsewhere in the UK!

As for my poem I was simply trying to establish the fact that I certainly have a more balanced view of the US in the respect that its not all Disneyland, Hot Dogs & Flipper!

What I have said is certainly not indicative of all Americans but more of a humorous stereotype and I meant to cause no offence, however if you are offended please vent your spleen by either getting high on Crack and go and shoot some poor hick neighbour or get a relative who is posted in Iraq to jump in there A10 Tank buster and open fire on the nearest British target (the ones with the union jack clearly flying) if you are still unsure get them to ask a colleague who has already done this!

Does anybody here work in a convenience store!

If so you have my respect as I would rather be in Afghanistan taking bullets from the American trained and armed Taliban insurgents than face the daily lottery of gun totting crack smoking customers!

[Roll Eyes]

I think this view is very seductive, but untrue. In many ways it wouldn't suprise me if the politicians even encourage this idea as it gets away from the fact that we are just as reliant on oil as any other first world country and, as a result, have exactly the same agenda. There are many things about the UK that need and should be addressed, but (unless I'm getting your point all wrong), this probably isn't one of them.

People seem to think that we get involved in all this stuff for America that should be left alone. First, we need to get involved for the same reasons that the USA does. Second, as I said earlier, the USA has been for a hundred years a great friend of the UK. Sure, there are disagreements and, of course, they have done things in their own interest, but there are recent examples of the USA doing outrageous secret things to help us out. Years later it comes out but by then its old news so no-one learns about it.

The Falklands for example could have been a most humiliating defeat were it not for our friends in the USA helping and supporting us behind the scenes in secret. In a stroke of bad planning or luck, much our ammo/supplies were lost on the way down in one big cargo ship sunk by the Argentinians, but our friends made sure we were secretly resupplied and supported in our efforts. Totally in breach of whatever international rules govern this sort of thing.

There are many more examples of this sort of thing going on but Joe public doesn't get to know, so wonders why we are always there to support the USA. It is a two way street, but just doesn't seem like it to us sometimes...

Perchance I will visit the UK soon - I mean London - I mean England - ah well they're all the same, right!?!

Anyway, once I arrive I expect to visit your London flat Mire Mare. I will bring some Denny's and Wendy's (sorry if it's a little cold), a mullet, and the front gate of a gated community (airlines frown on crack and weaponry these days, so don't hold out much hope for those).

We can have a nice visit and discuss why no one has thought of living in all the empty land that surrounds London. Then you can take me to all the stores that sell bargain priced 80's dvds! By that time the ship transporting Flipper will have arrived and we can take turns riding, then we can head over to Euro Disney and not eat a hot dog!

We can wrap up the day by watching Howard the Duck in glorious 1080p HDTV on Sky Movies HD since that's the only channel that has ever aired the film in Hi Def!

Disclaimer: This post is meant to be taken tongue in cheek - I thought I would say so because sometimes text just comes across as too serious. After reading through this thread, I just couldn't resist though... [Big Grin]

ps, the Howard The Duck part was serious. You just don't mess with the duck.

Wolfy you are welcome anytime my friend I live in Coventry (about 120 Miles north of London) which does have its fare share of tourism (especially scummy eastern European thieving gypo's).

Coventry is famous for being the home of Jaguar cars, Lady Godiva, SKA Music aka The Specials, Hazel O'Conner aka Breaking Glass & if you are in to Ice Hockey The Coventry Blaze are the current UK champions, the City is also going through a multimillion pound re-development program at the moment and is looking good!

I personally live on the outskirts to the north of the City more or less surrounded by country side in a large detached cottage (Undergoing a make over) very peaceful!

As for Howard well bad news my furry balled friend my Sky + box when **** up on Monday night and they came and replaced it yesterday the trouble is I have lost everything that was on the hard drive and yes this does include Howard the Duck!

Woe is me!

Funnily enough I was in our nations capital a couple of weeks a go, Myself and the good lady where going to see Prince at the O2 arena formally the Millennium Dome so we spent a couple of days down there enjoying the sights!
Glad to get back though to many foreigners down there!

Nick I like the fact that you really are standing by the whole UK/US unity thing but it is a very rose tinted view you have of this partnership and of there history!

I am also a member a couple of conspiracy forums and am a avid reader on the subject of conspiracy, regardless of the fact that the UK and the US have a great partnership when it comes to "HELPING OUT OTHER COUNTRIES" LOL there is no denying the fact that it is all driven by Money and Power, there is no true offer of help it is just a smokescreen for the modern day robbery of the occupied countries resources, and once the money gone we make our excuses and leave them to kill each other!

Africa is a great example of how the west's interference causes huge problems, that poor county has been bled dry for centuries buy the white man, we give them diseases and then try to cure them with vaccines laced with the HIV virus to try and wipe them out this doesn't work so we then try to divide and conquer and make sure we arm both warring factions ultimately training neighbours to kill each other and all this to meet our own ends!

The CIA for years have been bringing drugs into the US to help fund there black ops projects, Cocaine is shipped in in plentiful supply they develop Crack it is cheap easy to make and makes a little cocaine go a long way and know where is it more plentiful than in the ghettos, housing projects and crappy neighbourhoods in the US!

GENOCIDE ANYBODY!

Also remember the terrorist that we are so desperately trying to eradicate today where all at some point trained and armed by either the US or and the UK at some point!

So what Saddam was a bit nuts I bet in comparison he killed a lot less of his own people whilst in charge than the CIA have killed over the years with there covertly supplied drugs into the states!

How many people get killed in America everyday through a drugs related episode, makes you thing doesn't it!

Anyway let us not linger on such dark subjects!

Sex Anybody!

Well, obviously I can't comment on those conspiracies because I have nothing but a dose of healthy cynicism to go on [Wink]

Yes, capitalism is fuelled by greed. Yes, I'm sure bad things go on (thank god we've got the Queen as head of state to limit what our politicians can do..!)

IMHO its dangerous to form world opinion on the basis of heresay and folklore (MI6 in the UK assasinated Diana anyone?), but you're obviously allowed yours [Smile]

...But my opinion(s) of USA foreign policy are limited by the "facts" that I know for sure and how they might affect me (simplistic, I know! [Wink] )

And, quite apart from all the stuff mentioned here, I can't allow myself to forget that we'd both be talking German via a state censored connection if it wasn't for our brothers in the USA coming to our aid (twice!)

Nearly half a million young Americans gave their lives for "us" in WW2 alone, and so, for that, in honor of their memory, my loyalty to our brother across the Atlantic is assured... And I personally find it very hard to think any other way when I think of all those families who lost their sons & fathers to assure our freedom.

God bless the USA, that's what I say... (it might be naiive, it might be narrow minded, but it works for me)

Your very fortunate to be able to think like that Nick!

You should never assume however that all Conspiracies are the work of crack pots and lunatics, we are constantly bombarded on a daily basis with information in the from of TV and papers and it is very much selective propaganda but Joe public excepts that as the truth!

Yes its great the Yanks helped us out in good old WWII and I am not trying deny that they helped but if you want to get all teary eyed about it how about thanking the Canadians, French, Spanish, Indian, African, Australian plus many more countries who sacrificed there sons and daughters to help win the war!

What you need to understand is that ultimately the powers that be where simply eying up the spoils of war, you may very well say it was all for the greater good but how many countries have been covertly run buy the Americans since the war!

It also gave mass employment to a lot of unemployed Americans due to the great depression, Americas involvement allowed itself to boost it flagging industries and give the country a sense of purpose and pride, this is just what the government actually needed a damn good war!

I have the utmost respect for any man who would put his life on the line for his country and his beliefs regardless of where he comes from!

Did you know that the UK this year has finally paid of its war debt from World war II, cannot remember the exact amount but it runs into Billions and where do you think most of that went!

Regardless of what you think Nick its not out of love but for shear financial gain and power!

This is never about discrediting the grunt on the front lines but more about the seedy and murky underworld of the US government who run there country on lies and deceit and have there grubby little fingers in everybody else's business!

It always makes me laugh on COPS and many other trashy US reality program that great effort is made in saying the word VeeeHicle!

Its vehicle or as you quite rightly said just say car or truck!

As for burgers we really only have Mc Donald's (which I hate as it gives me the ****s) or Burger King (which I love) a large Triple Whopper with bacon and cheese & a side of Onion rings is a weekend treat for me or sometimes I go hassle the Colonel for a full breast meal!

Also Subway has suddenly gained in popularity in this country over the past few years, in fact we have about 8 Subway stores in Coventry now compared to only 2 Burger Kings!

When I was in Florida I use to love Checkers!

Tell me have you ever been to the much revered White Castles and partaken of there sliders!

MM,

Do they have a British version of COPS? Yeah, a nice Burger Kind double whopper is indeed a treat. Crap, a triple with bacon is HUGE!!! I noticed you order the onion rings as well. The fries are God-awful. I tend to frown on Subway because they use cheap quality meet, and they hardly give you any of it... I too love KFC. You should check this site out:
http://www.kentuckyfriedcruelty.com/
I love fried chicken...

I love White Castle but only 2 or 3 times a year, when I'm drunk! The burgers do bad things to me...
What sucks is that they are closing stores everywhere. What a shame...

What about fish and chips? Are they still popular in the UK? What kind of fish do they use? I used to LOVE going to Arthur Treachers, but they have all disappeared in the US.

Yep there are a couple of UK police type reality programs but on the whole they lack the thrills and spills and of course bad use of the English language that yours do!

The chases normally involves some hooded 15 year old from a housing estates driving a stolen Vauxhall Corsa at high speed around his "housing estate" egging the police on to chase him, it normally ends with him crashing into someone's front garden and then fleeing on foot only to be caught minutes later, as always he is to young to prosecute so they end up letting him go so he can appear on next weeks show obviously in another stolen car!

No gun play I am afraid and by Christ you are lucky if they crack open the pepper spray and give some drunk a dose right in the eyes now that's television!

All pretty boring buy US standards!

MM,

Actually, if you watch chickens, they "eat" their own crap. All very nasty stuff. There are no Arthur Treachers here in the Midwest. [Mad]

I just got back from Maine. The haddock was just caught that morning... It was GOOD!!! [Big Grin] Way better than the "fresh" seafood here in KC. [Confused]

You know, many people believe that the dinosaurs actually survived as birds. Hey, KFC is killing dinosaurs!!! [Razz]

Gotta get some for dinner tonight now...

MM,

Sometimes... Extra crispy... hehehehehehe...

They used to offer an all you can eat buffet when I lived back in NJ. Me and a couple of 'bulky' gents used to have-at-it from time to time. It's not good for you, but hey, who wants to be good all of the time. [Cool]

Went to Popeye's once I think it was in Washington and it was in a bad neighbourhood when I walked in I realised that I was the only white boy in there, it felt like a seen from a movie when I walked in every body stopped what they where doing and turned and looked!

The girl behind the counter looked at me nervously and asked what I wanted, I think she was a little surprised when she heard my accent as I guess they did not get to many White English people in the local neighbourhood Popeye's!

Got out with my life though but was followed buy a couple of dudes, Luckily the hotel was not very far away so got back alright!

Had that happen to me in downtown KC once... Two guys followed me back across the parking lot to my car. One of them walked over to me and raised his fist, so, I shot him! Thank God we all have guns over here.

You just don't mess with another man's chicken! [Wink]

p.s. just kidding... [Wink]

Well... I just don't take much notice of conspiracy history. The people telling it to us often have an agenda after all... [Wink] The truth normally comes out in the end anyway and thats when I listen.

You should never assume however that all Conspiracies are the work of crack pots and lunatics, we are constantly bombarded on a daily basis with information in the from of TV and papers and it is very much selective propaganda but Joe public excepts that as the truth!

Couldn't agree more [Smile]

By the way, did you watch the recent BBC series on conspiracies? Very well researched and not one had a shred of truth.

Yes its great the Yanks helped us out in good old WWII and I am not trying deny that they helped but if you want to get all teary eyed about it how about thanking the Canadians, French, Spanish, Indian, African, Australian plus many more countries who sacrificed there sons and daughters to help win the war!

Again, I couldn't agree more... God bless them all (well, with the posssible exception of the french army [Wink] ) but the subject wasn't about those other countries...

You say good "old" WW2... Is there a statute of limitations on gratitude for our freedom? I don't think there should be?

What you need to understand is that ultimately the powers that be where simply eying up the spoils of war, you may very well say it was all for the greater good but how many countries have been covertly run buy the Americans since the war!

Wow - what a subject. Suffice it to say that, at the end of the war, yes everyone wanted their piece of the pie, but, having just suffered the "great war", I don't think Europe as a whole was only going to war over what they could gain...

--except the Germans, of course!

It also gave mass employment to a lot of unemployed Americans due to the great depression, Americas involvement allowed itself to boost it flagging industries and give the country a sense of purpose and pride, this is just what the government actually needed a damn good war!

Well, the Americans certainly needed some convincing! We were begging them for years before they actually helped! (covertly they'd been helping for some time)

I can't help but think that your view is as cynical and contaminated with conspiracist propoganda as mine is "rose tinted"! [Razz]

I have the utmost respect for any man who would put his life on the line for his country and his beliefs regardless of where he comes from!

Did you know that the UK this year has finally paid of its war debt from World war II, cannot remember the exact amount but it runs into Billions and where do you think most of that went!

I see that you're obsessing over the money. Yes, the American government made sure that they lined their nest, destroyed our world empire etc etc but I don't (& won't) care about that. It's easy to blame things like that for our post-war failings, but I'm concentrating on the people themselves. Decent, ordinary Americans and English people (& Australians, Indians etc) who made the ultimate sacrifice for our continued freedom. There's no amount of money that can repay that debt. Period.

Regardless of what you think Nick its not out of love but for shear financial gain and power!

Baloney! No offense, but like I said, you're concentrating on government officials. Try watching a few decent documentaries where they interview mom and pop from Oklahoma where pop was on the beaches in France during the war -- a war that was to save our a$$ - not theirs.

I tell ya - I watch those things and pop talks (& cries) about how all his buddies were blown to bits in about 10 seconds of landing and I can't help but be moved -and eternally grateful. It wasn't their war. Imagine the fuss we get over a few soldiers dying in Iraq multiplied to half a million lost in someone else's problem. Would we have done it for them? Only a very special friend gives so much and thats how I like to consider our cousins over the water [Smile]

Sure, they ask us to back them up to overthrow some dictator. OK, the politics are a bit suspect. No problem, friend. It's the least I can do. We need the oil too, after all.

So they back the wrong group and it backfires into terrorism. Like a teenager, they are finding their way in being a world superpower. Give 'em time, they'll figure it out. At least their not paying the Irish any more to blow us up [Wink]

I know the foibles, I've heard the arguments. Stuff the governments -they're all useless anyway. My defence is of mom and pop in Oklahoma...

This is never about discrediting the grunt on the front lines but more about the seedy and murky underworld of the US government who run there country on lies and deceit and have there grubby little fingers in everybody else's business!

Again, I agree wholeheartedly but you are in danger of tarring the whole of America with your conspiracy brush and, at the end of the day, if mom and pop in Oklahoma weren't horrified with the scenes they saw in the news, there wouldn't have been the political will to send their sons over to help.

We weren't so damn squeaky clean when we were running the world either [Wink]

-Just my $0.03 this time [Wink]

At the risk of diving into a hornet's nest, at least the Russians didn't get to control the planet; with hundreds of years worth of horrible repression of their citizens on their hands, and clear moral bankruptcy and even pseudo-Satanism that Marxism-Leninism promoted, one can only shudder at what might have been had they started Armageddon (some sources suggest Stalin was going to try this very scenario before he died--perhaps murdered by his associates who knew it was either him or them). If it is about oil, at least we don't openly threaten other countries with economic misery as Putin does.

I don't usually believe many conspiracies, because everything they say is usually biased too heavily in their favor. One needs to really take the middle ground most of the time, or at least to think it out critcally. Sure, the leadership is dumb and quixotic (then again, which government isn't?), but they're certainly not evil; you have to at least grant that they think they're trying to help us, even though it's clear they could try very much harder. The average, real American is still essentially good at heart, so we still have much to be proud of regardless of how far we end up in whatever pits present themselves.

Considering the many twists and turns that this thread has taken, I can only respond with the following:

jdocster and I decide to visit MM, but when we arrive in London, we find MM missing, the place is trashed, there are Burger King takeout wrappers everywhere, and one TV is playing Cops, another is playing a show about conspiracy theories.

As we start to look around, we hear that creepy Friday the 13th music start and hear a door slam. We run back outside, but theres a black helicopter above us! We keep running but can't shake the helicopter.

We make it to an ASDA and run inside to take shelter by the £3.00 80's dvds. The door opens and in walks MM! "You're OK!" we shout, but in walks another MM! The first MM turns around and the second MM blasts the first with a laser rifle. MM #1 flies apart in an explosion of metal, as MM #2 says "I was sent from the future to destroy Replicant MM, come with me if you want to live."

We follow behind Terminator MM along with our horde of £3.00 dvds that we bought even though our Region 1 dvd players at home won't play them (thanks a lot region coding). Outside the black helicopter is still there! jdocster and I both take out a copy of the Karate Kid, assume the crane kick position and launch our Karate Kid discs to the sky like throwing stars. The helicopter is hit and goes out of control, it's going to crash! Unfortunately it lands on Terminator MM, who doesn't survive, except for a perfectly preserved metallic hand. The chopper is on fire, but it looks like someone is tied up in the back. We pull out whoever it is --- it's MM! The real MM! After some thanks, MM gives us each £3.00 to go buy more Karate Kid DVD's.

Then the pilot of the chopper starts to crawl out of the wreckage, moaning, "I want my two dollars!" Then the chopper explodes, so I guess he didn't really need the two dollars after all.

All seems OK, until a mysterious alien laser beam plucks MM from in front of us, and pulls him into the sky! jdocster and I look at the fleeting figure of MM and a small square object falls in front of us. It's MM's wallet, so we figure we are meant to go buy more 80's DVDs. As we head back into the ASDA, MM is pulled through space and lands on a planet of ducks! After defeating the dark overlords with crack cocaine, lots of guns, and a very very old White Castle burger, MM settles down with Duck Beverly and starts a website called 80's Quack-wind.

Meanwhile, having spent all of MM's cash, jdocster and I decide to visit Nick for, hopefully, a more peaceful visit. That's when a gun toting cheerleader and her sister drive up and tell us that a comet came through, wiped everyone out and they need help fighting zombies [Big Grin]
