Has anyone ever seen or heard of this movie with Mark Harmon in it??

Here's the summary off imdb of what it is about:

Based on a true story, this film depicts the life of Theodore Robert Bundy, the serial killer. In 1974, after having murdered several young women, he leaves Seattle for Utah, where he is a law student and where other girls disappear. It takes the cooperation of a number of police forces to work efficiently on this case. Soon, but not soon enough, the police eliminate endless possibilities and close in on him. Bundy is tried in the media and his good-boy attitude brings him sympathy but also the hatred of many.

Sounds like a way different role for Mark Harmon than his teaching role in Summer School.

I remember watching it as a kid with my mom back in the 80s. I am pretty sure it was one of those made for TV movies....

I definately think it was...but don't they sometimes release made for TV movies to DVD??

Some of the made for TV movies from the 70's and 80's were great movies, they were better than alot of the movies made for the theater.

It totally creeped me out for weeks!!! Plus I love Mark Harmon!!! So seeing him as Ted Bundy was just too weird... I was attracted to a serial killer! Yikes!!! Mixed emotions viewing this one!

"The Deliberate Stranger" starring Mark Harmon is a must see for any 80's fan. The movie is based on a true story and Mark Harmon is excellent as Ted Bundy. Think of him as a nice looking, well mannered guy that turns out to be a serial killer. [Eek!] It will definitely creep you out a little because Mark Harmon usually plays such likeable guys.

The best part of "The Deliberate Stranger" for 80's fans is the cast in my opinion. Frederic Forrest (Valley Girl) and John Ashton (Some Kind Of Wonderful) are both outstanding as the detectives trying to figure out the case. Then throw in Glynnis O'Connor and best of all one of my favs Deborah Goodrich (April Fool's Day/Just One Of The Guys) and this 4 hour mini-series becomes very intriguing for 80's movie buffs.

I've seen "The Deliberate Stranger" at least twice. The movie is based on a true story and even if half of what happens occurred in real life, it is utterly flabbergasting.

I know he chained women up in the basement and made them eat dog food, before he actually killed them, that is pretty flabbergasting...
wasn't he a lawyer too? I can't believe how sick people are...that's like Silence of the Lambs kind of stuff, that is just bone chilling, you can't even wrap your head around it that people are capable of such horrible crimes.
I know he was executed, but death doesn't seem like a justifiable punishment for people who do things like that...I think they should have to endure what they did to their victims before they are executed, I have always thought that the punishment should fit the crime, and if it did, there would be a heck of alot less crime.

I think this movie was based on the nonfiction account written by Ann Rule- The Stranger Beside Me. She actually worked side-by-side with Ted at a hotline. He was one scary dude- I've read a few books about him. As far as serial killers go, Bundy and Richard Ramirez are the scariest to me. Bundy got away with alot of his crimes because he was good looking, and always knew what to say to people; he was extremely cunning. If you guys haven't guessed by now, I am an avid True Crime novel reader! My husband always jokes and says I must be getting ideas on how to murder him and commit the perfect crime!
