All of the sudden I just remembered this film that starred one of the Carradine brothers and I think Kathleen Quinlan. It was about a murderer who wore a black leather mask and outfit. Does anyone else remember this movie from circa 1985??

I do remember this movie, very vaguely, I can't believe you mentioned it. It was Keith Carradine. HBO made some really good movies back in the 80's. I always liked Fortress-I think that was their first movie they did. This definately would be a movie I would watch now.
Wasn't the movie The Guardian with Martin Sheen and Louis Gossett Jr. an HBO movie too, that was an intense movie .

I don't remember The Guardian? I wish that Blackout was available on DVD because I would be snatching it up! From what I remember it was a very intense and scary flick and I always remember the black leather outfit and mask, it is signature to this flick just like the outfit and mask that was used in Scream is signature to that series.

The Guardian is really good. It is about this building full of tenants who live in the city, and the crime starts making it's way in to their homes, some people get robbed, and then there's a woman who is raped in the laundry room in the basement...it is one of the most horrible scenes to me in a movie-because her little boy who looks about 4 years old, is there with her, and it's just horrible, but they hire Louis Gossett Jr. to be their "Guardian" he is like the security guard, and Martin Sheen is a tenant in the building, but he thinks Louis Gossett Jr., isn't the swell guy that everyone else thinks he is, it is a very dramatic movie...I think it is a well acted and well written and realistic look at how people live in the city. If you can find it Jess, I think you would really like it.
I have it on a tape from off HBO.

Just watched this one and it was a decent tv-thriller.
The plot was quite predictable but the cast (Keith Carradine, Kathleen Quinlan, Richard Widmark and Michael Beck) did a good job.
The opening scenes included few shocking images (family killed with a baseball bat) and i liked how they build up the tension towards the end but the solution came too soon IMO.

I also own The Guardian and it´s another solid tv-film with a good cast.
