Thought it might be fun to start a little 80's Movie Trivia Game where I'll ask some questions and let you try to answer them.

Let's start with an easy question:

1. What is the name of the company where Ronnie Miller's Dad works? (5 points)

Posted by NowhereGirl (Member # 465) on :

Tic-Tac-Tiles...isn't his father the owner?

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

NowhereGirl is first on the board with 5 pts. The correct answer is indeed Tic Tac Tile.

Next Question:

2. What is the name of the band on Samantha Baker's blue notebook? (5 pts)

Posted by Ali_with_an_i (Member # 27) on :

The Rave Ups

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Next question:

3. What is the name of Judge Smails Yacht Club? (7pts)

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

So, Goof are you going to stay here all night coming up with new questions, cause it looks like these guys are on a roll.....

Ask one I might know!!!

Posted by The Mouse Avenger (Member # 4406) on :

What colors are The Kid's guitar in "Purple Rain"?

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Sammy scores with a quick 7pts....wow did you really know that without looking it up?

Ok a question, with a bonus:

4. What does DMK stand for? (7pts)

Bonus: Name the game! (3pts)

Posted by The Mouse Avenger (Member # 4406) on :

Aw, no fair...I just asked a question... [Frown]

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Sorry, I never saw your question. I'm sure someone will answer it.

Posted by The Mouse Avenger (Member # 4406) on :

OK, then. [Smile]

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Is it a trick question? I know the guitar he plays at the end of "Purple Rain" is white, but the guitars earlier were yellow or something.

Posted by The Mouse Avenger (Member # 4406) on :

No, it's not a trick question. I'm talking about the one Apollonia gives him in the middle that she sees in the shop window.

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

That would be "white" then...how many points do I get? [Wink]

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

I know the guitar Apollonia gives him is white.

The other question, I have no clue...I said ask one I at least have a shot on. Your asking crazy goofy obscure questions...ask an April Fool's Day or Breakin question. Hahahaha.

Posted by The Mouse Avenger (Member # 4406) on :

OK...maybe we should start over? ^^;;

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Maybe later, go watch some movies Isis.

Ok back to this question, with a bonus:

4. What does DMK stand for? (7pts)

Bonus: Name the game! (3pts)

Posted by Ali_with_an_i (Member # 27) on :

LOL, this thread is a hoot...and un sorry I dont know the answer I was just making an unwated interuppting comment.

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Hilarious interruption indeed. [Wink]

Hint on the question - from the movie "Night Of The Comet".

Question for Isis:

"What does TKO stand for?" (negative 15 points) [Razz]

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

Like, as if I am going to answer that...what kind of a goof do you think I am??? [Eek!] [Razz] [Roll Eyes]

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Any "Night Of The Comet" fan wanna give this question a try, before I reveal the answer:

Question, with a bonus question:

4. Who does DMK stand for in the movie "Night Of The Comet"? (7pts)

Bonus: What game does DMK have the high score on?(3pts)

Posted by Ali_with_an_i (Member # 27) on :

Give a hint? Is it something to do with the underground place....ah heck. Havent seen this movie forever....don't remember.

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

It is the video game that Catherine Mary Stewart is playing at the beginning of the movie, but seeing that I only saw it once, I will never remember that.

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

Wait...it is coming to me now.... [Wink]

DMK is the initials of the guy who had the top score on the video game that Catherine Mary Stewart was playing....they meet him at the end of the movie, and his liscense plate has the same initials on it.

[Razz] [Razz] [Razz] [Roll Eyes] [Wink]

Posted by Ali_with_an_i (Member # 27) on :

Awww man! Thats right! Cuz the blonde girl goes off with him or whatnot. I can't believe I didn't remember that!

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

DMK stands for Danny Mason Kenner and he had the high score on Tempest in the movie "Night Of The Comet". He shows up at the end of movie in a cool convertible with the license plate "DMK".

We'll give Isis 7pts for kind of getting the first part of the question.

Let's try a different question:

5. What year is the movie "Dirty Dancing" set in?

Posted by Kash (Member # 297) on :

1963

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Kashman hits the board quickly with that answer. You are correct for 5 pts. "Dirty Dancing" was set in 1963.

Next question:

6. In the movie "The Breakfast Club", what song can Allison play on the piano with her toes? (5pts)

Posted by Nice Guy Sammy_Hain (Member # 3150) on :

chopsticks?

Posted by Devolution (Member # 1731) on :

Devolution here,

Heart and Soul?

WE are DEVO

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Sammy, was so close...and who knows maybe chopsticks is on her playlist, but 5pts goes to Devo because Allison can play "Heart and Soul" with her toes on a piano.

7. Who is on the baseball card The Goonies find with Chester Copperpot? (5pts)

Posted by Ali_with_an_i (Member # 27) on :

Lou Geherig (spelling....)

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Congrats to Ali to be the first person to answer two questions correct for a total score of 10pts.
Lou Gehrig is on the baseball card The Goonies find next to Chester Copperpot.

8. Who's account did Fletch continue to charge all of his stuff to while at the country club? (5pts)

Posted by Ali_with_an_i (Member # 27) on :

The underhills??

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

She's on a roll ladies and gentleman, get that girl a prize...ok a new total of 15pts, sorry we are all out of stuffed Sloth Dolls at the moment.
The account Fletch kept charging his activities at the country club to was Mr. Ted Underhill's account. He even claimed to have his credit card number at the end of the movie.

9. What was the name of the plastic surgery store in "Logan's Run"? (7pts)

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

I have no clue...I wanna know who's keeping track of all these points ?? [Confused] [Wink] [Razz]

Who's winning??

Posted by Ali_with_an_i (Member # 27) on :

Alright VAlley, you got us on this one, may we have another? (question that is:) )

Posted by Nice Guy Sammy_Hain (Member # 3150) on :

The Love Shop?

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Ok, no "Logan's Run" or Farrah Fawcett fans I guess. It was the plastic surgery shop that was called "New You" where the lasers went crazy when the surgeon attempted to kill Logan before he made his run.

Here's an easy one:

10. Which actor was originally cast to play Marty McFly? (5pts)

[ 27. March 2006, 15:36: Message edited by: Valley ]

Posted by annier (Member # 3305) on :

Eric Stoltz

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

annier scores a quick 5pts for the correct answer.
Eric Stoltz was originally cast to play Marty McFly in the movie "Back To The Future".

Next Question:

What was the original working title of the movie E.T.? (7pts)

Posted by annier (Member # 3305) on :

Aka

A boys life
E.T and me
Nights skies

Annier

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

I was looking for "A Boys Life", so score 7pts more for annier. New total is now 12pts.

Next question:

12. In the movie "Stand By Me", when the boys pool their money together, how much money does Chris contribute? (7pts)

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

I'll take that there are no huge "Stand By Me" fans out there. The answer is 68 cents for a total amount of $2.37. The most interesting thing about the number 237, it is also the number of the haunted room in "The Shining" and the cell number in "The Shawshank Redemption" which are also the works of one Stephen King.

Back to an easy question:

13. What future R & B Star of the late 80's can be found in the movie "Can't Buy Me Love"? (5pts)
Bonus: Who choreographed The African Anteater Dance in the movie? (3pts)

Posted by Devolution (Member # 1731) on :

Devolution here,

It says that Paula Abdul was in the movie, but I don't know if that was what you were shooting at.

As for the dance, he watched it on television, I forget the name of the tribe though.

We are DEVO

Posted by annier (Member # 3305) on :

I think you right.
Paula Abdul was the choreographer for the film.

Annier

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Devo, you got the bonus question correct....Paula Abdul choreographed the movie "Can't Buy Me Love", so thus choreographing the dance scenes which included The African Anteater Dance.

Now, the first question is about an actor/actress in the movie that later became a popular singer in the late 80's and toured as the opening act for C & C Music Factory....anyone wanna guess? (5pts)

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

Geraldo(I am not sure on the spelling) .. Hehehe...Rico Suave. [Razz] [Razz]

Posted by Ali_with_an_i (Member # 27) on :

Geraldo is an annoying talk show host for FOX, you mean Gerardo....I think...lol

Posted by The Mouse Avenger (Member # 4406) on :

Oh, I thought it was Morris Day or Sheila E. for a second there...

And speaking of Sheila E., what are the two songs she sang in the movie "Krush Groove"? (5 pts.)

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Nice try Isis, if we were trying to find out who opened Al Capone's vaults, but the correct answer goes to Ali for 5pts and a new total of 20pts for the game.

Gerardo Mejía played Ricky in "Can't Buy Me Love" and he went on to later fame as Gerardo with the song "Rico Suave".

The next question was from Mouse Avenger:

And speaking of Sheila E., what are the two songs she sang in the movie "Krush Groove"? (5 pts.)

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

I'll take a guess....I know one of the songs is "Holly Rock", but is the other "A Love Bizarre"?

Btw, my fav Sheila E. song is still "Glamorous life".

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

Hey Goof...I LOVE a Glamorous Life...but Bizarre Love is more up your alley.....OOPS I mean Love Bizarre. [Razz] [Razz] [Big Grin]

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

I am going to GUESS...a Star,,,no no...a Circle...no...a Triangle....no maybe a figure eight....wait no....it was definately a square... [Razz] [Razz] [Wink] [Big Grin] [Confused]

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Wrong....anyone else wanna answer it? Where's Paul when you need him?

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

Wait...I meant to say...a hexagon....or hmmmmm....no no I think rectangle-no that's too close to a square...I think it was a half moon, or a green clover, a blue diamond, or maybe a horseshoe.

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Watch the movie and get back with us. [Razz]

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

No...I figure if I ran down the list of Lucky Charms ingredients...I would eventually come up with the right answer....DARN IT!!!

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Since Isis is done shape shifting for now, the correct answer for the shape that was pictured on the face of Watts' bass drum is a Heart. Foreshadowing for later in the movie huh.

Next Question:

In the movie "The Karate Kid", what was the name of the place where Daniel saw Johnny kissing Ali? (7pts)

Posted by Ali_with_an_i (Member # 27) on :

LOL [Big Grin]

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Ali, I'm pretty disappointed that you can't even remember the name of your parents Country Club. [Wink] And who knew Sam was a expert when it came to Yacht Clubs and Country Clubs....the correct answer was Encino Oaks Country club....so score 7pts for a new total of 14pts for Sam.

Next Question:

What future 90's Action Star can be found dancing in the background at the park in the movie "Breakin"? (5pts)

Posted by Nice Guy Sammy_Hain (Member # 3150) on :

I'm a blue blood. The royalty and snobbishness just oozes through my veins.

how about a Fresca?

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

Jean Claude Van Dumb

Posted by Nice Guy Sammy_Hain (Member # 3150) on :

guesses Jean Claude Van Damme just in case Valley is going to be a stickler for spelling

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Dumb or Damme both are acceptable answers, so score 5 points for a total of 12pts for Isis.

Btw Sam, great line...Ted Knight was outstanding in "Caddyshack".

Next Question:

Who's album does Blane buy in his first encounter with Andie at Trax?

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

I know it isn't John Lennon...the name Lenny Bruce keeps popping in my head...is that it??? If it isn't...who is Lenny Bruce?? [Confused]

Posted by Ali_with_an_i (Member # 27) on :

I don't remember but it's white hot.

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

No Lennon or Lenny.....last name starts with an L though. Woooo

Didn't anyone else notice that album just seemed so wrong....I know they had to have done it as a joke, but come on dude.

Ali, let's put it this way, I could never imagine the artist on the cover of the album in Blane's hand as ever being White Hot.

Posted by Ali_with_an_i (Member # 27) on :

Hey man, Molly said it was, so it has to be!

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

When Blane first comes in to see Andie at the record store, he asks her opinion of a white hot Steve Lawrence album that he tosses onto the counter. At this point the album is wrapped in a loose plastic cover. In the close-up shot of the album however, the plastic cover is gone. Then when Blane pays for the album, the plastic cover is back. I remember the scene well because kept thinking couldn't you at least pick up a Psychedelic Furs album?

Sam, I'll give your "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" question a shot: How about Gordie Howe #9 from the Detriot Red Wings. Second, only to Gretzky as the greatest hockey player ever. Though it's been a long time since I watched the movie, so I could be wrong.

I can't confirm the sex part, but the guy worked for a company and he gave Louden a product from his company. You don't see him give it to him, but you notice the product when Louden is riding home with Kuch, aka Jake Ryan, later that night.
