I saw this movie on Comedy Central awhile back and saw it was on again last week. I hadn't seen it in awhile so I hadn't remembered much--It was still totally awesome (except that creepy shower scene--Wilder is either an extremely good actor or he really is a perv).

What did you guys think?

It's one of my favorite Richard Pryor movies...and I've also done written a page about this movie that I'm waiting to have go up (Hint, hint, mods;).)

-"What are you, blind?"

-"Yeah! What the (bleep) are you, deaf?"

-"Yes!"

-"Then how can you tell what I'm saying?"

-"I READ LIPS!"

Also, Joan Severance is a babe and it was interesting seeing Kevin Spacey in an early role.

Sincerely,

John Kilduff

"Shazaam! Can you hear me?"
"Wally! I heard you!! I heard your voice!"
"Hooray! You can hear me!"
"What?"
"You can hear me!"
"No, schmuck, I'm deaf!! I'm deaf! Now do you get it?"

They don't make zany movies like this anymore. Love when Richard Pryor says dumbfounded" You mean I'm not white?" Priceless.

This was a good movie and they couldn't have cast the two leads any better than they did. This would be one that should be remade with two comic geniuses again some day. Maybe like Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson or Will Farrell and Vince Vaughn? What do you guys think?

Wilder and Pryor are hard to replace--I couldn't see a remake being half as good as this. Besides that, I'm sure people will get offended by the premise more nowadays.
