It's a fox. [Wink]

I always thought he was a dog......

I thought he was a dog too! [Big Grin] LOL!

Posted by Obscurus Lupa (Member # 2700) on :

Well, he was kind of orange-y and he had a bushy tail so I assumed he was a fox . . . O.o

Now Jennifer Connolly - there's a fox....

[Big Grin]

this cracks me up!

so the ultimate question has to be....What is Ludo then???

I just assumed Didymus was a dog too...one of those small "yippe" ones...haha...now I know!

Sir Didymus.... Yorkshire Terrier?!

Posted by Obscurus Lupa (Member # 2700) on :

I don't think anyone knows now. O.o

Sir Didymus was a fox. Ludo was a.... wasn't he an orang-utan or something? Certainly he had the arms, the red fur, and the prehensile grip.

Hey this topic reminds me of Stand By Me when they are sitting around the fire and discussing things like "is Goofy a dog?"

Well is he?

"He wears a hat and drives a car"

Does that really matter? He's a friggen cartoon!! [Big Grin]

Posted by Obscurus Lupa (Member # 2700) on :

I'm pretty sure Ludo was a new species altogether. [Big Grin]

Ludo looks like some sort of giant orangutan / minotaur hybrid but with a cat's tail.

Posted by Muffy Tepperman (Member # 1551) on :

Ali I was thinking the same thing the first time I read this....haha love that from SBM!

Did I mention I love Ludo! He was just so sweet and huggable... [Smile]

He sure was a huge orangutan though???....whats a minotaur? Paul the "prehensile grip" just had me in stiches! LOL!

Posted by raggedyman (Member # 4065) on :

I want a LUDO plush doll...!

Posted by J. Chance (Member # 4217) on :

A minotaur is a half-man, half-bull creature from Greek mythology that also lives in a labyrinth. Ludo's horns look somewhat minotaur-like.

OK - to settle......

So we have a fox... with rather more whiskers than is normal.... and an orang-utan..... complete with prehensile grip, Muffy..... who also (no doubt due to the proximity of Jennifer Connolly) has a horn.....

Paul

Thanks for your juxtaposition of the words "Jennifer Connolly" and "horn" - a classic mind at work!! [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Having Jennifer Connelly around would make me horny too.

Her latest effort, "Dark Water" is sort of fun, but the real horror is not the ghost upstairs, but rather the apartment she rents on Roosevelt Island.

Yikes! A plush Ludo would take up most of your living room.

I love this post! But I must admit... it's making me a little sad.

You see... around the end of May, I let this girl in my Film Studies class borrow my copy of "Labyrinth." I didn't know her well, but she seemed so happy when she saw that I had brought the movie in to watch. She said she hadn't seen it since she was a little girl, so I sympathized for her. I know if I didn't own the movie and someone I knew had it in their possession, I'd want to borrow it. So that's what I did... I let her borrow it. And I haven't seen it since. [Frown]

She told me she'd bring it back to me the next day. Well she didn't. And there was another problem. School was almost over... there was only two days left, and I wasn't sure if I'd get it back. She didn't come to school the next day, so I hunted her down on the last day and she said she'd call her mom and ask her to bring it to school for me. Her mom never showed. I gave her my number to call me so she could bring it by my house anytime. She didn't even call.

This movie is a big part of my life. I have so many memories tied into it and it kills me to think that someone else has it. She didn't even have the decency to apologize for not bringing it to me when she said she would... or give it back! I don't want to go out and buy another one. It just wouldn't be the same.

Anyways... I thought Sir Didymus was a hyper but cute dog, and Ludo was just a loveable monster.

Awww, that stunks Savannah! That's happen to me a million times with CDs. Anyway, I hope you find that brat and get your stuff back!

I love this film, I can remember going to my auties when I was little and watching it, and every time I went there I had to watch it. She must of got so tired of watching it [Big Grin]

It is on my list of movies to get and at the minute it is £6.99 on Play.com

As for Sir Didymus I would say he is a dog. He is definitely more dog that anything else.

prehensile grip.......haaaaaa still cracking me up... [Smile] i'm weird

So on the note of the guys talking about the ever so beautiful Jennifer I was gonna do this....

"Don't forget this handsome man.....
 -

but while I was doing the image search I found an interesting tidbit....check it out:
Hoggle's resting place

It's sad he's just sitting there rotting away? Do you guys think maybe there was more then one puppet of Hoggle...I think I need to watch the extras of Labyrinth again... [Smile]

Posted by J. Chance (Member # 4217) on :

My gosh, he looks like Zombie Hoggle! Apparently they made him biodegradeable.

Great pic of the two together!

Posted by The Mod Formerly Known as PaulS (Member # 1022) on :

Now if Hoggle had a prehensile grip, he'd be able to prise the glass from the case, and he'd be away...... but is it a case, or simply a glass oubliette....?

Posted by Savannah (Member # 2845) on :

Seeing the rotting corpse of Hoggle is seriously disturbing me. I thought he'd live forever! He wasn't the prettiest of the "Labyrinth" crew (we all know Jareth was), but I still love him!

And it's sad to think that no one wanted him... because somehow he ended up in a very small case next to a fake hand in the Unclaimed Baggage Center. He should be spending the rest of his days in a very nice display case in an establishment that actually takes pride in the collections they have obtained, instead of a place that titles their business as a “thrift business.” I would've taken him! He would've been an awesome conversational piece... if I would be nice enough to let family and friends actually see him.

Posted by J. Chance (Member # 4217) on :

I agree. I would have given Hoggle a nice, temperature-controlled home on my upstairs landing. And preserved him a lot better if it was possible.

I'd really love to find one of the urRu from The Dark Crystal. I'd wire him for sound so that he could intone at great conjunctions, lunar eclipses, etc.

Is it just me, or is he now appearing as Dot Cotton's husband in Eastenders?! [Wink]
