My friend Greg asked me if I wanted to take a day trip, so I said sure where to? He says, "How about Camp Crystal Lake?" I thought he was joking but he wasn't [Eek!] !!

I come to find out that I live not even an hour away from where the filmed the first Friday the 13th, in Blairstown, NJ. We went through the town in the opening scenes, we went to the actual camp, which is still a running Boy Scout Camp and also the cemetary from the opening scenes. The camp was ridiculous. It looks like nothing has changed in 25 years. We felt like we were in the movie. There was nobody else there because the camp doesn't open until July. It was so creepy and quiet. We had a blast freaking each other out and taking pictures. I can't believe I went to Camp Blood [Eek!] ! See for yourself.

Wow, that is so cool to go to that camp. And the pictures turned out great. Didja get the shivers thinking someone with a hockey goalie mask was in the area? Heehee.

Cindy stop messing with 80's Movies Urban Legends. You were lucky to get out unharmed. I would suggest continuing to looking over your shoulder every 5 minutes as you have most likely done every night since you left. [Eek!]

Btw, did they sale any Friday The 13th memorabilia in town? Cindy, those are neat pictures you have there. Isis suggested that it would be cool to do a tourist thing for "Friday The 13th" which could be similar to what was done in "April Fool's Day". Count me out, but it is an awesome idea. Beware of sharp spears though.

I say we all go there and recreate the movie...with Rewinders. Wouldn't that be awesome, like totally??

The pictures are great, Cindy you look beautiful...with the lake in the background...it is hard to believe such a pretty place was tied in to one of the scariest movies of all time.

I wanna go....I am coming in the fall!! I'll bring my camcorder and a hockey mask and we'll have some fun!!

It would be cool if they had a huge Halloween party there, wouldn't that be neat??

I'm glad you guys are enjoying my pics. Who else would I possibly share something like this with but you? Thanks for the compliments too [Smile] .

As for the being at the Camp, I can tell you this Valley, I wasn't quite right when I got home. I walked in my apartment and checked all the closets and opened the shower curtain to look inside the tub. I was spooked. Hahaha!

The thing is, I wanted to be there for awhile to check things out, look at everything and take tons of pictures but at the same time, I couldn't wait to get back in the car. At one point, my friend walked away from me and I didn't know where he was, so I just sat near the main cabin really quiet like...please come back...please.

Now I know it's only a movie but the place does have an interesting vibe. Muffy, you are so right on about the campers. I don't know how the hell kids go there and sleep at night [Confused] . Then again, they're probably so young they don't know what Friday the 13th is...

Isis, you must come up in the fall and we'll do a road trip. You will love it! I know my friends all want to go now after seeing my pics. By the way, here are some more.

This is an actual screen shot from the movie that I found online. Notice the totem pole. Look at my pics above...It's insane that it's the same one, they just moved it back near one of the other building now.

Here's another screen shot and then my pics. I was there!!!

Those are even cooler! I couldn't tell at first which were yours and which were from the movie.

The todem pole is awesome, you can see it has aged alot, they should paint it and preserve it. It is awesome. I'd buy that thing, if they would sell it and put it in my yard, I would take better care of it!

Do they have a sign up like the one from the movie? That sign is so cool. Is there anything around the town that says anything about Friday the 13th?

It looks like a really cute town. I would be kind of spooked too, knowing that all the scenes where shot there...and that Jason jumped out of the Lake.

I definately want to go. I'll dress like the girl in the picture and we'll retake it. I have the same hair color and everything...that would be really fun.

I think that girl married Mark Walburg!! Not your Mark Walburg, Cindy...but the one that hosted Temptation Island and he also was on Shop Til You Drop...is that not freaky!!! On that Friday the 13th website I sent you...it tells you about her. I read it there, and it just hit me...wow does that give me chills! Talk about spooked!

I think that's pretty freakin' sweet, even if I haven't seen the Friday the 13th movies.
