One of Diane Keaton's funniest performances in my opinion. She stars as a woman caught up in the coporate world who ends up "inheriting" her cousins child. She becomes so overwelmed that she leaves her New York lifestyle for a country one that will allow her to explore her take on motherhood. It is kind of a woman's "Three Men and a Baby". Funny supporting performances by Harold Ramis and Sam Shepherd. One of those films that make a woman believe that she can have it all.

Do you all have any fond memories of this comedy from 1987.

Devolution here,

I remember it, even though I haven't seen it in about 10 years. A good movie. It was always on HBO at about 7:30 every Saturday morning. It was good, but not brilliant.

Just watched Baby Boom.
It was a nice sunday afternoon movie.
This was my second out of NY and into the country movie this weekend
(watched The Stepford Wives too)

I have to admit that i bought the dvd only because
i needed it in my James Spader collection.
He had a quite small role in this flick.

You could throw on Funny Farm, Crocodile Dundee and My Cousin Vinny next and really ride that theme into the ground, aTomiK. [Big Grin]

I really enjoy this movie as well. I remember watching this movie growing up. I think it has the feel of Funny Farm meets Three Men and a Baby. This is a great lazy day movie that always makes you feel good.

Well my wife and I watched Baby Boom while we were up north this weekend and it hit the spot perfectly.

JC "Tiger Lady" Wiatt! I'm a sucker for 80's yuppie movies and movies of people going to the country, so this is right in my wheelhouse! I think this movie is heart warming and has the right amount of laughs. I also love the 80's feel of this movie, from the clothes to the soundtrack, it really makes me feel nostalgic. If you haven't seen it, or it's been awhile, give it a try! You won't regret it.

Haven't seen this in forever. Don't remember anything.

So here we are in the same situation as last year gordon. Chiefs and Packers in the championship games. I haven't watched a game this year but i know KC beat Buffalo pretty easily earlier this year but I still wouldn't make a bet on this one. I, like many AFC people are glad brady is on the other side now. Hes broken alot of hearts over the years. Good luck this weekend.

My leg starts bouncing just thinking about it!!! Last year I don't feel like I had a lot of confidence. This year, I feel like GB is a good team. That said, so is TB and of course, you have to get past the winningest QB of all time. It's going be a heck of a game. As for your game, it will be interesting. Seems like Buffalo has good momentum, but hard to doubt Mahomes and those weapons. I'm assuming he plays! Should a good weekend of football. Hopefully we can meet in the Super Bowl!

Back on topic - you should watch Baby Boom. Worth your time.

Good performance by Diane Keaton. And the plot is lovely too!

Do you know of any movies with similar themes? I know there's a movie with Kate Hudson who has to take care of her sister's kids.
I'm curious if there are any other movies made about something similar!

Well if you're looking for the theme of an unexpected baby coming in to someone's life, then Three Men and a Baby comes to mind. I've always said that Baby Boom and Funny Farm have a lot of similarities. Moving to VT from the city, and everything goes wrong. But there isn't the baby theme in that one.
