Hi I am just curious to know why that when ever Adventures in Babysitting is on UK TV like it is next week its called A Night on the town even though when it was released on VHS it was called Adventures in Babysitting and the DVD release is called Adventures in Babysitting. [Karate Kid]

I'm not exactly sure why Steve, but I have noticed that some movies do have an alternative TV title; 'Adventures in Babysitting'/'A Night On The Town' being one of them! A lot of my friends only know the movie from its TV title too; although in my opinion, the original title wins hands down and they should have stayed with that one! I think its called 'A Night On The Town' in Australia too (but don't quote me with that one, I'm guessing!)

AIB is a very good movie though! It's one that never fails to warrant a repeat viewing when it's on TV, even though I have the DVD! I think Miss Shue is the key reason behind that though! [Wink]

Changing the subject slightly; has anyone noticed how long it takes for the main title to be shown on screen?! I can remember picking it up as a child, and thinking how weird it was! Maybe it was just me!

Yes Adventures is so one of those that can have many repeat viewings and never get old. Never!

So tell me why the different titles in different countries? Is it all marketing? A Night On the Town???? What? Makes the movie sound different then what it really is?

Because of everyone talking about the movie lately....Jess's post too! I watched it all over again.

Yeah Grems I remember the main title taking a long tme to pop-up?? Like 10 minutes after the actors names....they were trying to be creative maybe? haha kindof sticks out as odd though.

I had forgot Vincent D'ononfrio played Dawson!lol

Didn't the teen actors seem so much older then the age they played too....in the 80's? Was Miss Shue supposed to be in highschool? She looked like she was in her 20's? I always thought the bratpack movies were that way too.

Ok and one of my fav parts that got a big laugh from me the other day......was Brad googly over Chris..."you look great..your hair your eyes"
"what about them?" "they are so well placed" and the whole "no way this from Sears or anything"
Cracked me up. [Big Grin]

I love Adventures in Babysitting!

Would this film have been as popular if it was released in the US with that name. It isn't even a catchy title. Makes me think of a new post.....

IIRC it was called 'A Night on the Town' when it was released in the cinema. As to why - that I can't help you with...

And for you 'West Wing' viewers don't forget the appearance by 'Josh Lyman'.
