I just found about this...

As a Yank, I never listened to any of his radio programs, but as a music buff, I have definitely heard the name and know a little about him. From what I understand, he was an institution.

Yes it's really sad this news. He is a legend in the UK. He gave many bands their first breaks. His show will be missed.

I was so so shocked about this news.....the man was an institution, who defined the word cool.

He will be missed by all the generations that heard him and by those who will never get the chance... [Frown]

A music lover all the way: if there's such a thing as a socialist DJ, then John Peel was that.
