Hi all, hope youre all good
hope someone can help me... [Confused] i was looking at the review for The Goonies today. from watching the film when i was younger it was pretty obvoius that some scenes had been deleted because some of the dialogue didnt matchup (eg,the octopus bit at the end).
however i didnt realise that sometimes the film is released or shown with the previously edited parts back in.
therefore, does anyone know where i could get hold of a uncut version of the Goonies on DVD? i want all the bits in it, crap or good, as long as its the full version!! cheers
chichi

The DVD should at least be the original theatrical release. It's possible you might have seen different scenes on television. Often times television versions show different or alternate scenes.

As of now, the region 1 DVD has 3 deleted scenes in it's special feature section. Once and awile non-premium channels will air The Goonies with the deleted scenes and a few others. It's unlikely that a DVD with all of the deleted scenes will ever become available.

Also, did you know that in the films original cut, two gorillas ran crazy throughout Astoria? At one point they even steal Troy's car. Thank God that was cut. I don't think any of that footage is or has been available either.

The Disney channel always plays the uncut version. People used to sell VHS and DVDr's copies of it on Ebay. I'm looking for the Repo Man tv version and the Explorers tv version.

Ahhh that's right. The Mouse network does play the uncut version, except all the really good lines and curse words have been edited out to make it family friendly. Also the Disney Channel has commericals, they didn't back in the 80s but they do now. Commercials are irritating. It's very difficult to find a good clean copy of the alternate version.
