The movie that I can't remember was some sort of HBO special, (I think) - I don't remember it being that long. It dealt with this old house and these kids who kept returning to the house. Pretty much, that's all I can remember except for at the end, when the kids finally find the "lost" girl who lived there ages ago. They find her decayed body at the bottom of a shaft inside the house, having fallen to her death probably half a century before.
I've written HBO asking the name of this movie, but as expected, no reply. Has anyone heard of this? Even if you don't have the name of it, reply and tell me that you've seen it...I used to hold my breath that this movie would be on, and now I'm missing it.

Oh my God I know what you are talking about! I remember when they find the body, but I don't remeber the name of the movie!!

Right, Ali - and I forgot to remember, that they're not ground level with the decayed body - they're looking down the gaping shaft hole at it. And one of them says something like, "Now finally she's at peace..." or "Now finally she can rest..."
This is really irritating me...I would like to watch it again. Help!

Ali - I don't know how I figured it out - I went to some strange website and discovered that the name of it is...Mystery Mansion. The girl who dies was killed there many years ago by bank robbers, evidently. Now I'm trying to figure out how to order this on tape, or better yet, DVD.
But I have another one for you - what's the name of that creepy movie that features mostly a brother and sister alone in their home, with some evil coming out of the ground in a big hole in the backyard? Also, one special scary part of this movie is that one character is running on the stairs and looks down at her hand and sees...a closed eye inbedded in her palm that slowly opens and looks at her. Scary!
So, Mystery Mansion being solved, do you know the name of the Eye-in-the-Palm movie?

Care, Thats great that you found out the name of your movie, I know exactly the one you are talking about. As for the film about the brother and sister and the things coming out of the hole in the ground, that movie is "The Gate". I believe it was released in either 1987 or 1988. It stars Steven Dorff. I haven't seen it for a number of years, but I'm sure that is the one you speak of!
