Let's tie this in to the movies then!

Post replies telling us your favorite 80's band, and the movies their songs featured in (tracks, scenes etc).

I was a big fan of the Human League in the 80's, and so Electric Dreams was cool with Phil Oakey singing the title song!

I liked the song that was played at the end of Pretty in Pink, "If you Leave" but I don't know the band. I also loved Bananarama and their song Cruel Summer. It was played in Karate Kid! Another good one is at the end of Breakfast Club, Don't you Forget about me by Simple Minds. I could go on and on... :)

How bout "MISSING PERSONS"? Lead singer Dale Bozzio was in the 80's drive in flick "Lunch Wagon" (I think that's the title)...

Anyone like them or remember that movie?

Hi Janette, I think the song "if you leave" is by OMD (Orchestral Manouvres in the Dark).

I loved a lot of songs from alot of 80's movies but my all time favourite is Nothing's gonna stop us now - Starship from Mannequin. Basically the whole soundtrack of the movie - Do you dream about me - Alisha, In my wildest Dreams - Belinda Carlisle. There are just too many to list...

Bon Jovi for Young Guns II which was released in 1990 but actually made the year before 1989

I have to agree with you Melanie1977. I loved " Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now" from the movie Manneguin. I also liked the song
" Waiting For a Star to Fall " but I cannot remember who sang it or what movie it came from. And who can forget " Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel in Say Anything.

I forgot one. I loved the song " A Woman's Work " in the movie She's Having A Baby. That scene incorporated with that song makes me cry every time.

That's a good song from She's Having a Baby, but I also like Apron Strings. Very pretty song.

Janette, I am a huge Everything But the Girl Fan and I think Apron Strings is a good song, too. Are you a fan of EBTG?

Waitting for a star to fall, the group was Boy meets Girl. By the way, please welcome me, I'm a BIG 80's fan from mexico City. And now that we're talking 80's movies music, what about Streets of fire??? The best music of all them all, isn't?
Adios Amigos!!

I give you a very warm welcome Habed, from Mexico City. It's always great to see new names on the board and thanks for the name of that group. I was racking my brains trying to figure it out. Would you happen to know what 80's movie that song might have come from. I think I remember it playing during the last scene and into the credits.

Hey! how about "Be good to yourself" by Journey, it was in White water summer, and very fitting for the movie somehow...

Of course, it`s from "looks who's talking 2" Very bad sequel. And talking about Journey, I loved "Only the young" in Vision Quest, also a good movie with great music. And Simple Minds "Don't you (forget about me)" in The Breakfast club

CruelSummer: I'm an 80s music fan! I remember listening to ETBG alot when I was young, but I never really paid to much attention to who sang it. I was always more interested in how it sounded. So you could say yeah I was a fan of ETBG but I'm a HUGE 80s music fan too. One of our local radio stations just started to play 80s music constantly! I love it! :)

Hey everybody! I just wanted to correct something. That song "Waiting For A Star To Fall" is, I'm almost positive, from 3 Men and a Lady (Sequel to 3 men and a baby). I'm not 100% positive on that one, but I don't think it's from Look whos talking 2.
