what were your favorite endings? what about the ones that had a crappy ending or didn't turn out like you wanted?

i guess i am looking for shows that either ran during the 80s or began in the 80s...even if they may have ended in the 90s...

i'll name a couple of mine..

Who's The Boss - i was so annoyed about the outcome with Tony and Angela! it took years for that built up relationship only to have them 'start over'..??? whatever!

Roseanne - i had no idea about this ending until less than a year ago. it ran on tvland...(it still might, i think) and i saw the last season, and whole time i was thinking, "WTF".. i didn't get any of those episodes. then i saw the last one and had to rewind it, because i didn't believe what was happening haha. that ending was a cop out, out right!

as for a show with a great ending..

a different world - i was glad this show did well, even after lisa bonet left. they revamped the show with some new characters and it worked well, IMO.
i loved the ending to this show, as we got to see whitley and dwayne finally end up together!

now, you guys. [Smile]

it doesn't have to be sitcom.. it can be dramas as well.

Gotta agree with Roseanne.....that whole last season was stupid.

Who's the Boss didn't bother me...but the whole darn show for some reason makes me a softie....lol

the only thing I can think of so early is not 80's but the most talked about maybe? Seinfeld.....such an awesome show with the worst series finale?

Devolution here,

I loved the end of Family Ties, when everyone comes out to the audience.

The end of The Wonder Years is amazing. I highly recommend seeing it. I don't even want to give it away.

The end of Married with Children was a bummer, mostly because I think they didn't know it was ending.

I'll think of more.

We are DEVO

Roseanne was a terrible ending
Cheers was quite a good ending think sam said the last line something like were closed or something

Totally Amaranth on Cheers a cool little factoid cause it doesn't ruin anything...the actor who played Coach Nicholas Colasanto died of a heart ailment while a star on the show, and after he died a picture of Geronimo that was in his dressing room was added to the set as a reminder Coach was still around....and in that final episode Sam straightens the picture as he walks off the stage. I'd forgotten about that til i'd been looking stuff up watching episodes recently [Smile]

"Newhart," an 80's show that ended in 90, has one of the all-time classic endings of any series.

Young Ones.

**SPOILERS**

The characters finally do something (rob a bank). They steal a bus and one of them shouts; "Look out! Cliff!" They drive into (and through) a huge Cliff Richard poster on the other side of which is a cliff. They plunge down it and the bus explodes.

The Wonder Years finale is amazing. I cried. I admit it. I remember really liking the Growing Pains finale too. As for Who's the Boss, it was a show I really liked...up until the last season. I didn't like the finale at all...very disappointing. I gotta pull this out into the 90s and mention Living Single...it was a decent finale, but it was so abrupt, b/c they didn't know up until the last minute that they were being cancelled. I was ready for at least 10 more seasons.... [Wink]

petty - i loved living single!! haha i remember it got canceled but i don't remember the ending. i think i may have bailed on the show just beforehand.
and i agree about Who's The Boss. hallmark channel has been showing the last season lately and while i watch it, i am remembered by how crappy it is.

like many of you, i have been waiting for The Wonder Years to be released on dvd. i so want to watch that show with my daughter. i didn't watch that show very much. i would love to see it now, from the beginning to the end. i didn't see the ending, but i heard about it. [Smile]

You didn't spoil it for me. I have seen the young ones a billion times.

My favourite show of all time.

I thought the ending to Seinfeld was fantastic personally but hey. I do know alot of people who were disappointed with it though.

I think Crash will agree with me, when I say the best finale was The Fatcs of Life because the show finally finished and we didn't have to put up with the annoying theme song anymore. But then it went to cable....Damn.

ROFL. Yes, Bernie, upon reflection, the best finale was the last episode of "The Facts of Life." It's a new week...don't get me started on that show. [Smile]

Ronnie, do you get the Hub channel? They show the Wonder Years every night @9:00. And the Oxygen channel shows Living Single. My DVR is full of Cold Case, Wonder Years and Living Single!
