Which would you choose and why? You are still yourself but injected into that world with those characters. You get to hang out and be a part of the main characters' everyday lives, so you are definitely connected to the story and characters.

I think I would choose to enter the world of Cheers. I think it would be a blast to hang out at the pub all day and night, cracking jokes and having a great time. There's always something happening.

My favorite show is Miami Vice, but I'm too much of a weenie to actually get involved. I wouldn't last 2 seconds under cover. The Colombian drug lords would smell a rat and feed me to the alligators!

Hammer House Of Horror [Big Grin]

Great thread idea Secret! So many to choose from. I always was so jealous and envious of Ricky on Silver Spoons, so I would have loved to live as him in that house.

Secret-A hahaha on Miami Vice that made me laugh!

I would pick Moonlighting easy!!!

I can watch that show beginning to end.....it was funny..smart.....witty....so 80's!...in a cool city.....awesome cases to solve.....plus I'M FUNNY......so i'd fit right in [Wink]

Helen: I don't know how you do it. I need to borrow some of your guts, girl!

80sR: I didn't see that pick coming - good choice! If you're lucky, maybe you can get your hands on Erin Gray -

Muffy: I think you might have a fight on your hands over Bert - DiPesto won't give him up that easy!

Good call on Vice, Secret-A [Smile] Just to be able to live in a place where it is totally acceptable to wear lime green with pink and turquoise, and roll up yor jacket sleeves, without feeling like a complete jackass!

Im going with SHOGUN... ancient Japan! With my mad skills I would be king of the samurais in no time. Those *******s wouldn't know what hit em'! Or maybe they'd just chop my head off at first sight, but still, it would be worth the trip!

The Wonder Years, of course!

It'd have to be Quantum Leap for me. I'd give anything to be able to 'Leap' in for just one adventure Sam got to go on every week!

The Equalizer. I could hang out with Edward Woodward, kick butt, and get all existential.

Probably something creepy like Tales from the crypt or Friday the 13th (series)

C'mon Crash. I know you wanted to say The Facts of Life.

For me it would be The A-Team. That way I could alert Hannibal when there was another hard done by watermelon farmer who was about to get run out of town by overbearing and unsatisfied hicks. I would also extort The A-Team for money. If they did not give me fifty percent of the take I would alert The U.S Army on their whereabouts, because they obviously need all the help they can get and are starting to doubt themselves and feel insecure due to average watermelon farmers being able to find The A-Team and them being radically unsuccessful.

This is how the opening sequence to The A-Team should go.

In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune living off watermelon farmers misfortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, bearing in mind the prerequisites for finding them are being a watermelon farmer and definitely not affiliated with the armed forces in anyway whatsoever, however it's ok if you are a Vietnam Vet, well then just maybe you can hire... The A-Team.

Your choices are good so far. There are still a few hold outs. Maybe they already live in a make believe world?

Any 80's American sit-com ('Kate and Allie', 'Charles in Charge', etc) because life always seemed to be good in them.

That or 'The Young Ones', because I like the idea of being able to smash your head through a brick wall without damaging it.

I really like SA's points about CHEERS, and I'd like to sit there with him, but since it's already taken....hmmmm.....maybe FAME. I love music, play the guitar and sing...though certainly not the artsy type as portrayed in the show, but can't help thinking it might have been cool to hang out there. I also like the idea of New York in the 80's.....a very unique atmosphere that that gives me oooey goooey feelings...probably since it's been featured in many movies, TV, etc....it's peacful to me. Wouldn't mind checking out a jazz club or two either....

The Young Ones Rocks. This is by far the most quoted stuff from any mvoie or tv show from myself and my brother.

I watch The Young Ones regularly still.

Kev, I'm seeing you in visions of Fast Forward type dancing rehearsals and street performances. [Big Grin]

Logan, you would perfect for Charles In Charge. Good thinking there.

Posted by kevdugp73 (Member # 5978) on :

Hey...I said no dancing....I play guitar and sing...and only in front of people after I've had a few drinks! And....I don't own even one pair of leotards!

Posted by Muffy Tepperman (Member # 1551) on :

Kev I am now going to always picture you in leotards!

Posted by kevdugp73 (Member # 5978) on :

You're welcome....I have enough hair on my legs to make white leotards look black...not to mention a butt that's as flat as a pancake...my wife thinks it's cute...I think it's downright embarassing....try to get that image out of your head!

Quantum Leap. I reckon I have seen every episode but along time ago. I used to be obsessed with Quantum Leap.

Lets face it. All us 80's lovers want time travel to be possible [Cool]

Oh and Kev, there's plenty of room at Cheers, belly up to the bar, mate [Smile]

Posted by kevdugp73 (Member # 5978) on :

Sounds great SA, though I do have to say in advance...I don't think I can go EVERY night...unlike Norm's Vera....my wife would not put up with that! So....probably a once of week kind of thing for me.... [Wink]

Hey Bernie, you dont have to worry about being hit with a bullit on the A-TEAM either. Love that show. Have not seen the movie, although I do own it, have you seen it?

Back to the original topic. I think a very good choice would be Bosom Buddies. 1 reason could be Donna Dixon.

I say Danger Bay... It would be pretty cool to hang out with dr Grant Roberts, going on adventure and saving wild animals.

I would just have to buy new sneakers all the time because of them getting dirty from all the dirt flicking up onto my shoes from all the bullets hitting the ground. Mind you Murdoch did actually get shot in one episode but I think they had to throw in one person getting shot in the whole series just to show that it was possible.

There is no way I could watch that movie. I love the series but I can't stand all these great things from the 80's being revamped into movies. It really bugs me.

Yep Bosom Buddies would be good and yes only for Donna Dixon. She is gorgeous. I have not seen that show for ages.

Perhaps I could try Knight Rider. I would pose as some kid in trouble and then when he wasn't looking I would steal KITT. I reckon I could manage to do this by just playing on his ego and telling him how Michael was planning to have his voice box removed and replaced with James Earl Jones' voice. Once I have befriended KITT I could get him to do uni assignments for me and 'borrow' money from him and get him to pick up phone order take aways. I would definitely have KITT working full time.

I have both Bosom Buddies season on dvd but i´ve never seen one episode.
I loved Donna Dixon in Doctor Detroit, Spies Like Us and The Couch Trip
so maybe it´s time to unwrap the sets.

Posted by Bernie_Lomax (Member # 8571) on :

aTomiK, from what I can remember it was a very good show and didn't deserve to be cancelled. I remember seeing it back in the mid 90's for the first time and liked it back then but mind you I was only like 14 and Donna sure looked good too from a 14 year old's perspective. Actually now that I am 30 not much has changed. I think you should definitely get it out of the shrink wrap and give it a watch.

I like Doctor Detroit too. Fran Drescher also looks super sexy in that too.

Gotta love the doctor and his ladies...

all the women in doctor detriot are smoking

except for mom, but i dont know if she counts as a woman

and its a great film

If i can choose another tv show i would love to live in, it would be...Whiz Kids, i was so in love with Andrea Elson and i´m a sucker for old computers and arcade games and Richie Adler lives in a nice house and neighborhood. So many reasons to stay in that tv show.

Posted by The Good Package (Member # 9492) on :

you cant do that on television, it seemed like everyone was having alot of fun on that show

Posted by Bernie_Lomax (Member # 8571) on :

Why?

Posted by The Good Package (Member # 9492) on :

i thought that slime was really neat, and the possiblity of tricking someone into getting slimed would make for a fun day at work

Posted by Bernie_Lomax (Member # 8571) on :

I meant isn't "Why?" what you weren't allowed to say.

Posted by The Good Package (Member # 9492) on :

i think, " i dont know" was the phrase that brought the slime, its been a long time since i seen that show. they should show re-runs somewhere

Don't forget while we are talking about You Can't Do That On Television that just their mentioning water could cause that to be dumped on them too! [Big Grin]

Probably Magnum PI meets Miami Vice, I would like to have a squad of people with me though, mainly women like Cathy Moriarty, Kathleen Turner, Maria Conchita Alonso... Sorry where was I?

Posted by Lovers with Cassie (Member # 7794) on :

Doctor Who.

I would be able to travel to different historical eras, other worlds and throughout outer space, meet people and aliens, fight monsters and journey in the TARDIS.

I would do this as one of his companions.
