Does/did anyone watch this show in the 1990's when it was on?

Are you crushing on Jonathan Brandis [Wink]

I saw some of it back in the day - wasn't bad.

Perhaps she has a thing for dead guys?

I really like Jonathan Brandis! He was a fantastic actor. It's unfortunate he passed away at only twenty-seven years old.

Most of the actors and actresses I like have passed away, but many of them are still alive. However, I always seem drawn to actors and actresses from the 80's and 90's. They always seem so realistic on screen, they're so talented. I'm not drawn to the ones who have passed away because they're no longer alive, I'm drawn to them because of their amazing talent.

SeaQuest DSV is so fun to watch! I'm currently on season two. I love all the adventures they go on, and the dolphin is so great. The opening theme tune is so catchy.
I really wish I could've watched it when it first aired.

I don't necessarily love only dead people, some actors and actresses I like are still alive.

Personally, I'm a little offended by the above comment. I love them for their acting skills, and the talent they had.

I apologise if I offended you Chloe. It was a joke but I probably should not have said it. I like Jonathan Brandis too. He was a good actor. Seaquest DSV was a decent show but I am sure he aspired to more than that.

Such a shame. Really sudden too. He had his whole life ahead of him and seemed far too young to take his own life like that. I guess you can never tell what's going on inside someone's head.

Some of the greatest artists of all time have passed on. Just looking at movies we have a century of film to choose from, a lot of which contain deceased stars. They all leave their legacy for new generations to discover and appreciate. In some ways their deaths - especially those that died young - leave them kind of frozen in time for us. There is no 'old' Jonathan Brandis. There is no 'old' River Phoenix. The ending to Stand By Me is even more powerful than it was when it was first released for just that reason.

Don't worry Chloe - he was only playing with you. These boards can be very jokey and informal and people just treat each other like friends, with lots of light-hearted ribbing. It's pretty clear from your posts how passionate you are about lots of different aspects of 80's / 90's culture and how much pleasure you're getting discovering all the great stuff that came out. In a way I envy you being able to discover so much cool stuff from the past for the very first time.

That's okay! Maybe I shouldn't have taken it to heart, sometimes I do that a bit too much.
