No snow here yet (down south).

We haven't gotten any snow here yet, but up in the mountains they got some- Somerset/Johnstown, PA area. Also, around Erie they were expecting 6 inches last night. I just hope we don't get another blizzard like we had last season in Feb.

Tons.... and it sucks azz!!!!

No snow here in Chi-town yet, which is a shocker because we usually get hit by mid-November.

Nova Scotia, Canada....one decent snowfall last week, but has since melted. It's been uncharacteristically mild for this time of year. I remember about five years back we were sitting on my parents' deck on Christmas Eve, which is unheard of for Nova Scotia. Anyway, we typically wake up one morning and the temperature has taken a drastic fall, then never looks back until March...I'm sure that will happen soon....

Near 6 inches in the north of Ireland and rising

In Miami, we only have the other kind of snow.

We´ve had snow since mid october.
Freezing cold today, minus 22 celsius (-7.6 fahrenheit)

Lmao atomik! Oh, the snow in Erie was a no-show! And the weather is quite mild here today.

Our paltry minus 2 or 3 looks feeble compared to Atomik's minus 22.

We have now had some snow. Not too heavy yet, but more or less constant for a day.

Posted by Veronica Sawyer (Member # 2221) on :

It's snowing here right now....Don't know if it will stick though.

Posted by Ronnie (Member # 465) on :

glad it doesn't know here, i wouldn't be able to handle it, it's 35 degrees now and that's cold enough for me.

Posted by amaranth (Member # 8882) on :

more snow for us looks like im going to have to dig my way out,and schools are closed. look likei need to go to shops and buy 40 loaves a bread!

Posted by Pittsburghgirl (Member # 7514) on :

We got it all in a 24 hour period: rain, snow and flooding! Most of the snow melted already- I guess the ground still isn't cold enough after all of the rain.

Posted by JAY LEE (Member # 6345) on :

New rule.... people from Arizona,Australia, California, Dante's Inferno, or anywhere else that's hot and toasty all year round, don't get to chime in, when we, people of the north, bitch about how unfathomably cold it is, and how we walk through 5 feet of snow to get to the 7-11!

Really... you had to wear a shawl, while you were laying by the pool, sipping mai tais.... BOOO ****ING HOOO!

Im just kidding......

Except im not.....

Well, maybe I am, I can't really tell, since the cold *** weather froze my brain, and it ceased to function two hours ago....

Ekk you guys i'm sorry you guys are dealing with it.....I hate snow....I have great memories from being a kid in the snow...but I hate having to drive in it. Cold temps are ok....not great...but snow? bah humbug!

Posted by Pittsburghgirl (Member # 7514) on :

Lmao JAY LEE! I get tired of hearing people who live here complaining when we get snow. They need to move to a warm climate! I like the change in the seasons. I like the snow on the trees. and I find driving in the snow a challenge. I don't get scared to drive in it- It's the other drivers on the road (90 year old Grannies racing to the store to stock up on toilet paper!) who scare me! I once followed an old lady almost the whole way to my street from work doing 15 mph! Atomik, get out there and stock up on your milk, bread and toilet paper!

It's a Jeckyl and Hyde thing - beautiful when it falls, and then it turns to grey, filthy sludge.

Thin, slippery sh*t here now.
Language! The word is 'slim'; "Slim, slippery sh*t".

And the "Slippery sh*t" is when the snow starts to melt and turns to ice. As long as you have deep snow - you have traction. People still walk too fast, though. ****s.

Took me three and a half hours to get in to work yesterday. Oh how I love the rail network when there's a little bit of snow and ice.

*Pelts Muffy with a snowball*

Zoink! Take that, Muffster!

I saw a whole stack of pre-prepared snowballs as I was leaving the train station today. Had to smile! Someone had worked hard getting ready to pelt people.

My power has been on and off (mostly off!) since last night at 11:00 pm. I am on my computer now in the basement, but I have a flashlight by my side just in case the power goes out again. I just hate not being able to cook something on the stove (we have electric, not gas, which sucks when the power goes out!).

My neighbour's outside water pipe burst today leaking gallons of water for the better part of the morning. Went to Boots to get my new glasses fitted and they had closed at midday - lazy a$$ed ba$tards. That was my last chance before Christmas. Yes, there's been some snow, but it hasn't frozen and it's still easy to get around. Today has been an anti-snow day for me.

It's still snow where I am - no rain. What part of the UK are you in?

Posted by Helen_S (Member # 5804) on :

Liverpool. I was walking in it today. Some parts were sludge, other parts thicker. Aww I felt sorry for the poor birds walking along the ice lakes in the park lol

It continues to be crazy mild for Nova Scotia Canada....mild temperatures and no snow. Has a pretty decent wind/rain storm a week or so ago. As of tonight, apparently calling for a decent storm tomorrow. I say bring it on...would like to have a little snow for Christmas.....

I had to do it you understand... I had to. It was just sitting there. I know it made you feel dirty. It made me feel dirty too. I don't think that this dirt will ever wash off. Consider the bottom of the barrel scraped.

I actually feel better knowing it isn't just Un-Great Britain and the rest of the Sh!ttish Isles that shut down when one flake of snow hits the ground. Thanks Jay Lee.

Snow was predicted here last week, I think there actually was some in the ranges.
This might not sound unusual, but this is an Australian summer and we are normally around 40 celcius right now!

Nova Scotia currently getting wallopped with a snow storm....calling for up to 65 cms. Everything closed / cancelled here as well. I was lucky to get home from work at 7 PM....my father in law picked me up with his monster truck. So I'm now home with my litte guy, awaiting my wife's return home from work at 11 PM. If someone can't get in to relieve her...she's stuck there...then I won't be able to go to work in the morning cause I'll need to stay home with my son...what a mess...really wish I was on days off for these silly storms...

We actually had sunshine today..and I got to enjoy it some,I worked an early shift..it was really cold like 30's last night....but no snow here.

Veronica that's an awesome pic is that a snowball in mid flight? I have a cousin in Chicago she sent me a pic of a snow pile that was blown by the wind.....sooo cool [Smile]

i was telling some of the rewinders today, on facebook.. that i can't imgaine what all of you go through with weather like that... that much snow?!? sheesh!

the temp dropped to the low 30s here in phoenix, and people were losing their minds haha. everyone was complaining how cold it was. i'm enjoying it as much as possible because our summers come quickly and last way too long.
don't get me wrong, i took one stop outside thought... wow, this IS cold. ..but still, nothing compared to what everyone else is experiencing.

hang in there, everyone!

Posted by kevdugp73 (Member # 5978) on :

This past week we've had temps like -30 degrees C, which typically with the wind chill feels like -35 to -40...not sure what that converst to in F...but dat's darn cold! They basically suggest you stay in doors so you don't get frost bite on your face. The 30's Muffy and Ronnie?...that's t-shirt weather!

The title of this thread should be, "Who DOESN'T have snow!"

We get hit twice a week over here in the northeast lately....

Wow...that's a crazy pic. We had yet another storm last evening, which was kind of unexpected. I worked a back shift (7PM to 7PM), however, got stuck at work for two extra hours due to the storm as someone couldn't get in.

So when I got home after a 14 hour backshift, certainly wasn't going to shovel snow. After a nice sleep and supper, had to shovel then...of course after the temperature dropped and yet again turned the snow extremely hard. A good two hour workout on the other hand. * Another few weeks and we're out of February...our worst month of the year for weather...
