Sean and I will be doing our traditional xmas day at my parents place. They live about 20 minutes away.

We get there about 10am, and sit down to give out presents. We give them out one at a time so everyone gets their share of attention. Normally my sister Emma plays "Santa", she sits under the tree, reads the tags and hands them out. This is my favorite part of the day, not because I get gifts, but coz I love watching everyone else be happy.

Then we usually go outside to sit in the shade and have glass of wine or coke, and eat some chips, cheezels and crackers with cheese or dip.

We eat xmas dinner around 1pm, my mum does an awesome job making roast turkey, pork and chook, plus potato, pumpkin, beans, peas, carrots and gravy (she usually forgets the pork crackling - it's a big ongoing joke).

Dessert is xmas pudding with icecream, cream and custard. Naturally we have the old xmas crackers as well, so we all wear those silly paper hats and tell those awful jokes that are only funny on xmas day!

During the afternoon, we all relax, my dad will have a siesta while the rest of us usually play card games or watch DVDs that someone got for xmas.

Around 4pm we usually take our nana home coz she has another xmas dinner in the evening with my uncle and aunt, although I don't know what will happen this year because they both passed away during the year.

This year when I get home I know I"ll be listening to the gift I'm getting from my folks - I asked for it specifically coz they didn't know what I wanted. So they are giving me the mono edition Beatles box set that was released a few months ago. So this xmas night will be Beatle-tastic!

this christmas is gonna be wierd! my brother jesse is a truck driver and he won't be here for christmas eve which we usually spend at my mom's with my family, so we are gonna have christmas with my family on january 2 at his house. christmas day we will go to 9;00 mass then go to bill's sister's house for the day with his family. we usually have a big breakfast/brunch then open gifts stay there for a few hours then everyone goes to their other family's houses and we go home and open our gifts from each other.

Usually I drive to my parents house (5hours) for the holiday traditions. This year, I put my foot down and I am staying at home. It was a fight with most of the family, but it is time for my daughter and I to start our own traditions. This is the first year where she understands the whole concept of Santa Clause, so I am really excited. We will probably do about the same thing I did at my parents house, but with a few changes.

Christmas eve we will deliver presents to our adopted family (my parents have done this for years and I finally started it where I live), visit the fire station by our house and take snacks and such to them (for those of you who know how important fire and police are to me, you understand) and then head home for a feast of junk food! Cheese fondu, candies, cookies, pretty much a hodge podge of all our faves. For my daughter this will include broccoli, yes it her favorite....doesnt get it from me! Stay up late watching movies, and heading to bed.

My dad used to go in the attic when I was little and make hoof like sounds so my siblings and I would get all excited. I will never forget Chad, my brother, yelling out one night "DAD, KNOCK THAT SH** OFF". I was devastated and pouted all christmas day!
