I was thinking the other day how many friends I know that have been to Hawaii- even before I knew them...and I thought about how weird it would have been to have been standing next to someone in Hawaii, that I didn't know then...but maybe know now.

Like....alot of us on here have been to Disney World...we could have been on Space Mountain together and not even known it. Isn't that kind of weird?

Like I could have been at a Ripley's Believe it or Not when someone else on here was, and we could have been standing beside each other...and we would never know each other. It can happen even now.

Do you think if you saw a fellow Rewinder (who's picture you have seen) that you would recognize that person if you ran in to them in real life?

A few years ago my sister who lives in the same town in North Dakota that I live in bumped into one of our cousins from Wisconsin who she hadn't seen in probably 15-20 years down in Cancun.

Just shows you how small the world can be

Central Park. Or most locations in London.

However, if I saw a fellow rewinder in real life, I would run - maybe towards them, maybe away..... and you know who you are!

lol @ paul. [Wink]

i don't think i would just recognize any of the rewinders out of nowhere... unless i was looking for them or actually meeting up with them. i don't know any members that are from phoenix or even close. we are pretty spread out here.

I think I would recognize some of the more photogenic members of Rewind. I would have trouble with some of the more camera shy people(myself included). Alas, I don't really move in the same regional circles as most of you unfortunately.

I think what's interesting is how different our perspectives about a place can be. I have seen my hometown on youtube shot from others perspectives it can look quite different at times. [Smile]

We all have our stereotypes of places we have never seen. Jdoc, when I think of your home turf I hate to say it but I'm thinking of Dorothy and Toto and that waterfall in centerfield of Royals stadium.

Riptide- Dorothy was from Kansas...not Kansas City- [Wink]

I think it is so weird that everyone is so spread out, there's like a Rewinder on the planet about every 300 miles or so....we are so far apart. Cindymancini and I are really the closest to each other. Even Valley is over 8 hours from me. (which is probably a good thing- [Big Grin] )...but
it is weird that some of us have walked on the same ground...like even at Animal Kingdom or Epcot Center....in Disney...all the big tourist attractions. Even like the Bahamas or on a cruise ship...that's possible.

We should all go on a Rewind cruise. Start off with a 3-day cruise....incase someone tries to throw somebody overboard.

I hear ya. I really love Kauffman stadium. Did you know that you can watch any game for $7.00 general admission? It's the cheapest ever... Not a bad seat in the place. Now, if we could get a good team...

They installed a new "High Resolution" screen this season. The screen is 100 feet by 85 feet, and features 1,800 lines of resolution. It's the biggest one of it's kind in the world. You can sit in the parking lot and clearly watch the game.

It's such a shame about the Royals, that stadium is just a stunning piece of work. How can you not be impressed with those photos. We hardly ever see Royals games on tv because of the small market team/bottom of the standings situation. I loved watching them in the 80's with Bo Jackson, George Brett and Bret Saberhagen. $7.00 is a steal! Cheaper than a movie. When we used to have the Expos we had $8.00 general admission, man those were the days. You have no idea how much I miss seeing MLB. They are stuck in small market hell, but just be thankful you have a team.

That's what I tell all of the "fickle" fans out here. It's cheap to get in, it's a beautiful stadium, and it's a major league team. They may not be that great but at we have something! They keep talking about how they need a new stadium and they want to tear down the current stadium and move 5 miles down the road into the city. STUPID!!!

The best kept secret in town is Friday night is buck night and fireworks... Whoo hoo... Hotdogs are one dollar, then a good 20 minutes of quality fireworks after the game.

Nick works around four miles from where I live, and we've met up before. I reckon that's about the closest - geographically.

of course, I feel close to everyone.... [Eek!]

Kevdug, I will be visiting Halifax around X-mas time to see my sister and nephew who live there and plan on going back to that second hand store where I found that VHS of Jake Speed.

Cool Rip...I'll be in Halifax on Dec 16...maybe the closest we'll come to crossing paths. I'll keep my eyes peeled around the thrift stores...you have two eyes and a nose....right [Big Grin]

Kevdug, where are you actually located? You'll be there from the 16th until when? Or just that day? I'm probably there the 26-27th.

Posted by kevdugp73 (Member # 5978) on :

Hey Rip...I'm about 1.5 hours from Halifax, so I'll just be up for the day on the 16th....my son has a doctor's apt up there, so me and my wife are taking him up. Home to NB for a bit longer?
