I can't believe it is in a week from today.

I put my Christmas tree up last night.

I have been decorating my house for a week. I am hoping that I'll be done tomorrow.

I have some shopping done now-so I am feeling better about that.

I have to go get my turkey this weekend.

I love Thanksgiving...it's my favorite meal.

It snowed a little bit last night, so it is feeling more like the holidays are coming.

I hope everyone has a really nice Thanksgiving with their families.

Turkey with the family for me too. Then I'm off to my buddy's house to jam out some tunes on the guitar and pour back some cold ones! Friday off for me too....should be a hell of a weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

Wow, I've always admired your Thanksgiving Day. I know that I wish we had it here in Ireland, but no. Our November's are pretty miserable. It rains all month, it's starting to get cold, it's dark at 4p.m., Christmas is still a month away. It sucks. Thanksgiving must really break up the wait for you guys..

Lucky!! [Smile]

Say, can I pretend it's Thanksgiving here too? Would you guys let me do that? I could have Turkey for dinner and be merry and gay... [Big Grin]

What say you rewinders to Jack's Almost Real Thanksgiving, food by ISIS, drinks by 80's Rocked and jdocster and my dates, EleanorJane and Earth Angel lighting the fire!! [Smile] [Smile]
It could be real cosy, and all are welcome!!

Heading to Texas to be with some family. It will be my sister's first attempt at making Thanksgiving dinner. She is the type who screws up ravioli in a can! This will be fun to watch.

I'm from Canada so we celebrate Thanksgiving at different times.....but...happy Thanksgiving to everyone else...hope you all get to spend time with family. EleanorJune...did you see the movie "Pieces Of April"? I think it was Christmas, not Thanksgiving, but, Katie Holmes is making a turkey for her family for the first time. I assume you'll pretend it tastes delicious...even if it doesn't. [Wink]

To all my american friends out there, I'm jealous!Ah, ......succulent turkey, mashed potato and gravy, crannberry, stuffing, driving me nuts. May you all enjoy it.

I hate turkey, I even hate the smell of it cooking in the oven. But I love everything else-the mashed potatoes and stuffing and gravy are my favorite. Once I tried to get away with no turkey on my plate, but my mum noticed and yelled at me, so I had to eat a small piece anyway.

Feast at my grandmother's and football along with some brews. And your not alone in your hate of turkey pittsburgh. We actually buy a honeybaked ham from Honeybaked Ham store ( I recommend it highly if there's one near)and my mom cooks a turkey because about 50% of the family (including me) do not like it. I love the mash potatoes and gravy, stuffing, broccoli casserole, pumpkin pies, and sweet potato pies though. My aunt always takes the cheap way out and fixes one of those horrid green bean casseroles and makes out like she slaved over it all day and my grandfather breaks the rum out which goes great with Thanksgiving......

We do have a Honeybaked Ham store, maybe I'll get one for Christmas. It's just me and the hubby and mother-in-law. Everyone else is going somewhere. I like pumpkin pie, but I am weird- I like to have it warmed up alittle bit. My husband thinks it's gross. I am making a green bean casserole, but it's not the horrid kind- it's made with frozen green beans (or you could use fresh if available), mushrooms, red peppers, and topped with carmelized onions with brown sugar. Well, I guess it doesn't sound horrid if you love veggies, but I guess any veggie dish is horrid if you hate them to begin with! I bought some Apple spiced wine at one of the wineries in Erie, Pa this past summer- I actually bought a ton of wine, but I just bought the one bottle of the apple wine just for Thanksgiving. They said to serve it warm. I hope it's good, I didn't try it, I am more of a dry wine drinker. Everyone else that went to the wineries with us likes the sweet, fruity wines- yuck. I was actually going to make mulled wine, until I remembered the apple wine. And of course I'll be drinking either some beer or other spirits after dinner!

I only like pumpkin pie if it has about half a container of cool-whip on it. [Smile]

EleanorJune,

I got my Turkey yesterday. I barely eat any meat, but turkey is my favorite...but it has to be oven roasted...I don't like that processed icky stuff out of the deli.

I have friends who are coming for the day on Thanksgiving, we are going to play board games and hang out.

I hate the green bean casserole. Ick. Tonight I made a broccoli and cheese and rice casserole for supper...it's in the oven baking right now. I love it.

I am making a vegetable blend for Thanksgiving.

We do ...Turkey, Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Veggies, Rolls, I always try a new sweet potato recipe every year-this year I am making Sweet potato pudding with pecans and whipped cream. I am making spiced cranberry sauce. None of us drink alcohol ...so we are having sparkling grape juice. We are making 2 pumpkin pies.

I am so excited about the holidays. This morning I went out in the woods with my friend and we cut hemlock branches, and I decorated all around my house with that and holly branches. I have a wheel barrel and a wagon and other barrels that I fill up with greens and then put white lights in them and red bows on them. It is snowing now, and looks beautiful outside. I love it.

I learned how to make a bow today....I have always wanted to make my own bows for in garlands and wreaths and stuff, so once I figured it out, I went crazy and stuck bows everywhere.

We just have Thanksgiving at home, with the traditional turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE and rolls. My mother lost her mind and bought a smoked pheasant for Thanksgiving and a goose for Christmas this year. I just don't know, LOL.
