Hiya! For those of you who remember me, I hope this is a nice surprise, and for those who don't, nice to meet you. [Smile]

I'm sorry I've been gone so long. Part of that was the board slowing down, but mostly it was due to me working and going to school and trying to find time for everything. I've got to remind myself to keep coming back here, I've got so many good memories of the awesome people here. I hope you don't feel abandoned!

So my life in the 80's lately...I finally saw Heathers. Sorry to say, I didn't like it, BUT to make up for that I finally saw Adventures in Babysitting and I loved it. I also saw Can't Buy Me Love for the first time and that one was great too. I got this movie called "The Watchers" starring Corey Haim, and it was really bad but it was like 3 bucks at the comic store. I got "Witchery" too, starring Linda Blair and David Hasselhoff, which was also mercifully cheap because it's pretty awful but in a comical way.

I bought the Lost Boys sequel, which was good on it's own but not as a sequel to Lost Boys.

I haven't watched Little Monsters in a LOOONG time, but I need to bust that out one of these days and take a trip down memory lane.

As for real life, still doing the theater thing, now going to college. I know, I know, the youngsters of the board are getting old too. [Big Grin]

How is everyone?

Hi Spooka Lupa. Nice to meet you.

Don't worry about the boards going dead anytime soon as long as I am here. [Wink]

Hi Lupa!

Wow...so you're in college now. Congrats!

I'm actually shocked that "Heathers" wasn't your cup of Draino. But stoked that you enjoyed "Adventures in Babysitting" and "Can't Buy Me Love". Love the scene in Adventures at the college party (picking up tips are we) where the guy comes out of the bathroom with horns on his head and see Sara with her Thor helmet and gives her a thumbs up. And Can't Buy Me Love is a quoting classic.

Well, great to see you back Lupa

Valley

Thanks for the welcome, guys. [Big Grin]

Isis- Thanks! I still have that DVD you sent out a while ago, with all the clips and music for the members. I want to major in Theater and become a drama teacher. [Smile] I'm doing mostly General Education classes right now though.

Valley- Thanks. [Smile] And I really wanted to like Heathers, but it was too dark, even for my style of comedy, ha ha. I didn't find anything likeable. The only part I laughed at was the "dead gay son" line. But yes, I liked the others. I liked the redheaded kid in Adventures in Babysitting, ha ha.

Welcome back SL! Believe it or not I've been looking at old threads and posters recently and wonder what happened to some of them. A nice blast from the past fer shure.

Man, Heathers was so ahead of it's time. It was really a 90's film template, movies like the Doom Generation or even Jawbreaker were really influenced by it. I even read an article on Heathers saying the script was so controversial it was difficult to get made, and the original ending would have had the whole school blow up. Not for the faint of heart.

"How could a righteous babe like you be lonely?"

Lupa, was that red headed kid you mentioned Daryl Coopersmith (Anthony Rapp), the guy who played Brad's friend? If you enjoyed him in Adventures, you should get the movie "Dazed and Confused".

Oh and for any fans of "Little Monsters", you should check out Lupa's awesome website dedicated to the movie.

For some odd reason, I always liked Heathers. Jawbreaker was a bit weird, not bad though.

Riptide- The ironic thing is, I really like Jawbreaker. I didn't mind Heathers being a dark comedy, but I still need to find something likeable about a movie and it just sort of missed the mark for me.

Valley- He was in Dazed and Confused? Ha ha, I only saw that once. I'm not big on the drug movies, but yeah. Thanks for the site plug. [Big Grin] I haven't updated that in forever.

Thanks for the welcome, Nick. [Big Grin]

Lupa, it's great to see you back, I can't believe you're out of high school now!

Thanks, stitch. I know, it's hard for me to believe too!

Does everyone remember that story we did, where everyone continued it and included a bunch of 80's characters? LOL I loved that.

I also remember the thread I started called "The Day Bruce Campbell Saved..." and everyone would have to finish it in their own way. I totally saved that one.

You should start a new game Spooka.

If I could think of one...I don't really have any ideas right now.

Maybe a video or a board game. Do you go all out for Halloween?

Posted by 80'sRocked (Member # 6979) on :

How about a nice game of chess? [Big Grin]

I love Halloween, but I'm busy and broke this year. I'll probably have a small party with my friends and get a nifty costume.
