I loved him. I use to spend the night at my cousin's on Friday nights, and he was always on really late at night...we thought he was hysterical. I think my son would love him. I should buy his show on DVD. I could not believe the stuff they got away with.

I know what you mean. They had some pretty raunchy skits for the 80's. Gotta love the Hill's Angels too. I'm sure your son will. [Smile]

I looked it up on Ebay....I have to pace myself. I just bought Season 1 of Barney Miller, and I bid on Season 1-Vol. 2 of Streets of San Francisco.

never can go wrong with a dirty old man chasing buxom women around to the William Tell Overture. I remember he had some uncensored specials on either HBO or Showtime

Even here in America, you'd always know you were in for a treat if a program began with that long-running Thames TV ID (with the London skyline rising above the river in a mirror image, familiar to viewers of Danger Mouse and Count Duckula as well as Hillites; is it really a surprise they went under no more than 5 years after they updated it?).

Love "The Chase" scenes at the end of every episode. Also crack up everytime he slaps the old bald guy on top of the head.

Don't know what I was thinking in my earlier post. It was "Yakety Sax" that was the song used in the chase scenes not "The William Tell Overture"

oh how my heart would sing when I would hear that THAMES theme! (have 8 notes EVER made anyone happier?) It meant BENNY HILL was coming on!

(I hated when other shows with the THAMES theme came on and tricked me!)

Well for some strange reason they stopped showing him on TV in the UK way earlier than they did overseas - never could understand that one....

Awhile back I downloaded Yakety Sax and put it on a '70s compilation disc. Every time it goes on my daughter and my dog chase eachother around the house (a la BENNY HILL)
