Yeah I think reboot is a semantic attempt to reduce the stigma of a remake. It doesn't work. I think everybody knows reboot=remake. I would say that perhaps the only difference though is that they would have a different story. I am not terribly interested in seeing it. I am not a fan of all these new age comedians. Melissa McCarthy is OK I suppose but she's no Bill Murray.

Sounds pretty bad that they chose to remake it but in the end it all comes down to the story and the cast. Like Bernie said, it will be difficult to find a decent one let alone a great one...

The only thing it has going for it is that it is being produced by Ivan Reitman. Unfortunately Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd etc have had little to do with it. I thought that it was plausible that Ramis and perhaps Aykroyd might have written a script before Ramis died but it does not look that way. I can't imagine it will be any good. Not for us seasoned critics anyway.
There is a huge issue with comedians these days also. They just aren't funny.
OK, so back in the 80s you had people like, Jon Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Rodney Dangerfield, Chevy Chase, Eddie Murphy, Rick Moranis, Steve Martin, Martin Short, John Candy etc.....
These guys were power houses of comedy and today you haven't got any real comedians, you've only got people who think that they are funny such as, Seth Rogen, Steve Carell, Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughan, Jason Sudeikis, Zah Galifinakis, Amy Schumer etc....
These people are just not funny. Comedians of the past were clever and witty and would say that most ridiculous things at the most unexpected moments, where today none of these so called comedians are very comedically clever. Everyone of them just seems to be doing a different take on a Ben Stiller routine that was never funny in the first place.
I say bring back Chevy! Bring back Steve Martin! I know they are getting on a bit but I would much rather watch real comedians.

So true, i canīt think of any really good comedians today. Adam DeVine had few funny moments in The Final Girls (check out also the gag reel during the end credits) so i think he has some potential but havenīt seen his other films.

I think Brian Regan is very funny. Hes been around awhile. Since at least the 90s. I would like to see him in a movie.
The new Ghostbusters doesn't interest me at all. The trailer better be darn good for me to even think about seeing it.

I can't even grasp why they are doing a movie like this, it will never ever be like the original. I hate when they mess with movies like this.

Is The Final Girls a comedy? I like Adam Devine in Workaholics. It's hilarious.

The Final Girls is a horror comedy. I would like to see few Workaholics episodes.
