So there's a group on Facebook called Impeach Michael Bay. I think I may join. I watched the new Friday the 13th last night...he was a producer. Ugh, it was horrible!! WTF, Jason wearing a bag on his head like the killers from the Strangers? I'm all for new movies and whatever, but c'mon. This is the worst movie I've seen in a while, and I was really excited about seeing it. C'mon Michael Bay! Why do I hate most movies your name is associated with??

Bay is not a very good filmmaker, and from what I hear, sort of a douche!

I can make it through a couple of his films, based on performances from the cast, not him! But the rest is just torture...

BAD BOYS= Lame, uninspired and unfunny!
THE ROCK= Decent, but only because of Connery and Cage!
ARMAGEDDON= Torture... pure and simple!
PEARL HARBOUR= Even worse torture!
BAD BOYS 2= Even more lame, uninspired and unfunny than the first one!
THE ISLAND= bad rip off and stylistic piece of crap!
TRANSFORMERS= Semi enjoyable, but ultimately falls apart!

I thought Jason wore a bag on his head during Friday 13th Part 2 and didn't start wearing the hockey mask until part 3.

With that being said Michael Bay sucks on all levels.

You're probably right, Sammy. But still the movie sucked so badly...

Jay Lee, from your list I liked Bad Boys. The first one--not that piece of **** that was the second one.

Yep and the earliest film I know of with another sack headed killer is the 1976 film, The Town that Dreaded Sundown

But anyway yes I cringe when I hear/read Michael Bay's name [Razz]

Just saw the new Transformers last night. umm... the first one was GREAT.

The 1st movie was made for the Transformers generation, those that were between 5-10 years of age when the series and action figures were popular. This one was made for today's 5-10 year olds.

I really think after the 1st movie, Michael Bay sat and observed a little kid playing on the family room floor with the new line of action figures, wrote down every piece of dialogue the kid used while bashing his toys together, and made a movie about it. Maybe that was the idea.

Just watched the movie,i agree the first one was better then the second one.But i did like how they used the matrix like in Transformers the movie (cartoon).and kept true to jetfire once a decepticon but turned autobot.Wished they would have made Devastator look like kinda he did in the cartoon. And what was the name of the corvette
robot? never did catch it.

I concur. And he's given rise to a whole crop of evil hack filmmaker clones: McG, Brett Ratner, Uwe Boll, Rob Cohen, etc.

I attended a Michael Bays Anonymous meeting once: the clerk handed me a pen in super slo mo with dramatic music playing in the background, before we cut to a room of people saluting the flag (again in slo-mo), a fit woman turned up posing in slo mo but she had absolutely nothing to do with anything other than the fact she was hot...strange place.

Bays a hack, a frustrated businessman some might say; perhaps his paternal issues with John Frakenhemier have something to do with him wanting to do the next big action scene to impress his father. But I must admit I do own a lot of his movies.

"I love it when people get really mean and call you a 'hack'. It's like, don't they see how well these movies are doing? They make an impression around the world. I met this guy in Bali who lives in a hut with a TV, and he loved The Rock. That means something, doesn't it?"

Michael Bay

BAD BOYS: Thumbs up! good film when you're 12...reasonably entertaining later on in life.

THE ROCK: Thumbs up!

ARMAGEDDON: Brilliant, ingenius movie. Criterion concur. 10 out of 10.

PEARL HARBOUR: Never seen it, but it sits on my shelf unwatched, smirking, daring me to commit three hours of my life to it.

BAD BOYS 2: Stupid, but mildly entertaining; got to a point where I was rooting for the Cubans, especially that bad MF with that DSHK machine gun on his jeep.

THE ISLAND: Twaddle.

TRANSFORMERS: Good in a way.

TRANSFORMERS 2: Twaddle.

I hate all of his movies. The Rock at least has the one great scene: the Ed Harris/Michael Beihn standoff - but Bay still tries his hardest to destroy it with his patented bad flashy photography, bad flashy music cues, and bad flashy editing.

Let me see...

BAD BOYS: Not bad... 7/10

THE ROCK: Good flick! 8/10

ARMAGEDDON: Good flick! 8/10

PEARL HARBOUR: Slow, not too bad. 6/10

BAD BOYS 2: ?

THE ISLAND: Meh... 5/10

TRANSFORMERS: OK. 6/10

His movies are not really that bad and a couple (The Rock, Armageddon) are great. Some of you look to find the bad in all of modern movies.

Sorry dude that's all I find in any Bay movie. With me, it's not looking to find the bad it's the bad looking out at me as far as he's concerned. He's made turds out of some potentially good movies. What he did to Transformers (not gonna bother with the sequel as he's involved with it) would be considered a crime against humanity in most countries.........

(Makes random unnecessary explosion noises after reading each comment as a Bay tribute)

There isn't a single Bay movie that wouldn't have been way better if he wasn't involved. That's the point. He drags everything down with his hackneyed direction.

I never saw Transformers, but I'll take your word on that one because all those types of movies don't do much for me and I probably won't ever watch it. All film makers have their share of stinkers....I agree with that.

Bay is a no-talent hack wannabe...I have yet to see anything good from him and I'm not expecting that to change anytime soon...Bay is one of the main reasons why I won't throw my money away in theatres anymore. So in a way, I guess I should thank him for saving me so much cash.
