OMG Ronnie you must watch some of the Bond movies. I'd maybe start with Casino Royale and go backwards (not counting the current one which isn't on DVD yet). Not a big Pierce Brosnan Bond fan here so I'd recommend:

1) Goldfinger
2) License to Kill
3) Thunderball
4) Moonraker
5) The Living Daylights
6) License to Kill

Everyone has their likes and dislikes as far as the Bond franchise goes, but those are my favorite ones.

P.S. Thanks everyone for the compliments and Brooke is ok with it. Kev if that's your wife I'm movin to Canada tomorrow lol......

I only really like the Roger Moore Bond films. The Brosnan ones were okay, but the Sean Connery ones were boring.

I've been to Moscow several times on business and I have to say - there is an unbelievable amount of incredibly beautiful women! You hardly see any fat women, and just standing on an escalator going down to the subway you can count at least 10 gorgeous women on the other side.
And just as pretty as the girls are, the men are the ugliest bunch of males I have ever seen im my life. [Mad]

Moore & Dalton did the best Bond movies.
Connery films are ok.

Like MotleyRulz, i don´t really like the Brosnan era.

Posted by Mr. Jack Burton (Member # 4673) on :

I've got to disagree!!
For me, Sean Connery is James Bond and my top 3 favourites are all on his watch: From Russia With Love, Goldfinger and Dr. No!!

I'd go with favourite Bond:
1:Sean Connery
2:Roger Moore
3:Daniel Craig
4:Pierce Brosnan
5:Timothy Dalton
6:George Lazenby

Ronnie,

I can't believe you have never seen a Bond film! Seeing how this is an 80s site I think you should start with Bond movies from the 80s. Take a look at these:

Roger Moore:
For Your Eyes Only 1981
Octopussy 1983
A View to a Kill 1985

Timothy Dalton:
The Living Daylights 1987
Licence to Kill 1989

Here's a list of all 22 Bond Films:

1 Dr. No 1962 Sean Connery
2 From Russia with Love 1963 Sean Connery
3 Goldfinger 1964 Sean Connery
4 Thunderball 1965 Sean Connery
5 You Only Live Twice 1967 Sean Connery

6 On Her Majesty's Secret Service 1969 George Lazenby

7 Diamonds Are Forever 1971 Sean Connery

8 Live and Let Die 1973 Roger Moore
9 The Man with the Golden Gun 1974 Roger Moore
10 The Spy Who Loved Me 1977 Roger Moore
11 Moonraker 1979 Roger Moore
12 For Your Eyes Only 1981 Roger Moore
13 Octopussy 1983 Roger Moore
14 A View to a Kill 1985 Roger Moore

15 The Living Daylights 1987 Timothy Dalton
16 Licence to Kill 1989 Timothy Dalton

17 GoldenEye 1995 Pierce Brosnan
18 Tomorrow Never Dies 1997 Pierce Brosnan
19 The World Is Not Enough 1999 Pierce Brosnan
20 Die Another Day 2002 Pierce Brosnan

21 Casino Royale 2006 Daniel Craig
22 Quantum of Solace 2008 Daniel Craig

this newest bond is pretty close to how ian fleming wrote about him.

bond wasn't a spy or some suave ladies man. he was a cold blooded killer. the movies got farther away from that as they went on, so i was happy to see daniel craig bringing back the cold bloodedness that bond actually was.

haha glad i'm not the only one. i guess i've never been interested in seeing them? my b/f wants me to watch them, so i guess that's something him and i can do together.

thanks for the list jdocster! i cannot believe there are over 20 bond movies.

I don't think Daniel Craig is good looking either...I think he looks way older-I guess I am so superficial-he might have a wonderful personality-just like I am sure these guys are looking at Olga's personality . Daniel Craig and I are the same age. I don't have one wrinkle on my face yet...and he's loaded with them. All that scares me...when I see people my age...who are physically in good shape, but their face is older looking than their body.

Jobs take their toll on people over the years. Acting is a hard job with long hours. I'm sure you'd find some wrinkles were you constantly in front of the camera working like the stars are.....

Daniel Craig has been acting for 15 years, which is the same amount of time that I have been a mother...believe me motherhood takes a worse toll on your body than acting ever should.

He only has made about 2 movies a years for the past 15 years....plus he has a stunt double for all the "really" hard stuff.

I find it amusing that you comapre your life of being a mother (not saying at all its not hard but he definitely leads the more stressful life)to a life of travel, 16 hour (actually working)days, jet lag, and yes he does alot of his stunts. No comparison at all. Not even a simile or a metaphor although it was quite amusing. I'm assuming you email back and forth with him regularly as well.....

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

Mamamia-He's 40, and so am I. Motley-how do you know his schedule? And how do you know mine, and what I do all day?

I have been outside in the freezing cold all day, for 6 hours...putting up Christmas lights, I have been up on a ladder most of the time...and probably made 30 or more trips up and down 3 flights of steps to my attic. He's probably lounging in the Bahamas somewhere.

Posted by MotleyRulz (Member # 3598) on :

I figured you'd already know his schedule and email him or something. I only know from what I read on here about yours and the Christmas lights are a personal choice. Chances are if he's in the Bahamas hes earned it. Maybe they'll start giving out free trips for hanging up Christmas lights or something. I know I'd want a free trip if I had willfully spent 6 hours doing it and working as well..... [Roll Eyes]

P.S. Thanks for once again taking a topic off on a tangent......

Because shes a Bond girl not to mention the fact that shes only like 29.. Who'd you think they'd get to play a Bond girl? A middle aged weathered lady who smokes 2 packs a day? That may work for the part of Q. Plus like someone said earlier the James Bond in the Ian Fleming stories is more weathered looking and cold blooded. True fans will know that not simply someone who bases a character on looks.....

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

Brooke Burke is way prettier than Olga...I saw other pictures of Olga, and I didn't think she was that great. I actually thought she looked older than 29. Daniel Craig was a homeless person, before he became an actor...so I think he probably doesn't mind his job...and the work I do around my house...isn't just for fun....I get paid over $400 a night...so I don't "work" for free either. In the spring I am going on a 7 day cruise, so I'll be lounging in the Caribbean too, so he and I aren't much different, except I don't have the wrinkles he does. [Razz] [Razz] [Razz]

Posted by MotleyRulz (Member # 3598) on :

First shallowness as in looks are everything and then bragging about money and anyone can go on a cruise as I am next summer. Don't be jealous just because Olga is younger than you. And chances are Mr. Craig probably doesn't base facts in the same generalized, ignorant biasness as you so that probably locks you out from being his kinfolk not to mention the fact that he probably doesn't enjoy talking about himself and making himself the center of constant attention.........

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

are you crazy?? Why do you think people become actors? Actors are the most egotistical people on the planet.

Posted by MotleyRulz (Member # 3598) on :

Ummm some of them may actually enjoy their craft. Congrats you just generalized millions of individuals once again based on a few hundred. Care to share anymore brilliance?

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

Whatever! My gosh...your the one that posted pictures of women...if that's not superficial...then what is? Plus, you went on and on about how I should be jealous of Daniel Craig cause he makes money and should be allowed to be in the Bahamas..cause he earned it...as if me doing "my job"...was meaningless, and that I just work for nothing.

Posted by MotleyRulz (Member # 3598) on :

I'm not the one who constantly posts pics of myself. Are you drunk? I never said you were jealous of Daniel Craig but the Bond girl (obviously you are as that comment went right over your head) and why wouldn't he be allowed/deserve to be in the Bahamas? I never said doing your job was meaningless and that you worked for nothing so I'm trying to figure out where you got that........

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

It must have gone over my head...because I could care less about the girl...

Daniel Craig is my age...which shocked me...because I think he looks in his late 50's.

You said that they should give out free trips to the Bahamas for hanging up Christmas lights...I mentioned that I get paid to hang up Christmas lights...because my house is my business...and I don't just hang up Christmas lights for 6 hours...for free...so if I go to the Caribbean...I worked just as hard as Daniel Craig did to get there...you said that me comparing what I do to what he does...was no comparison...and I said your right...cause I know what I do is hard work.

I don't care how old Olga is either...

How old are you Motley?

Posted by MotleyRulz (Member # 3598) on :

I said it was no comparsion because it's 2 completely different lines of work. Do you work 16 hour days? Are you on location in multiple places? Do you have an agent? Do you go to awards shows? I never said one was harder than the other although I doubt you work 16 hour days. You simply assumed that. And you also failed to acknowledge constantly posting self pics. What does my age have to do with anything? It's like comparing a doctor with a ditch digger: two completely different lines of work with nothing in common..........

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

Let's see...before I got married I worked 2 full time jobs...40 hours a week a piece. One I worked from 2pm-10pm, then II went to my 2nd job and worked from 11pm-7:30am. Every night, and on my 1 day off...from those 2 jobs...I worked a 3rd job- 8 hours a day...and they were all extremely hard jobs where I had to do a ton of heavy lifting.

My husband works from 8am-8pm every day...he works 6 days a week, and he has 4 herniated discs in his back...so regular people do work just as hard as actors do.

Do you think Daniel Craig is busy scrubbing the toilets, and doing the laundry and running the vaccum, and changing the sheets on his bed, and
all that?

I highly doubt it.

I got up at 8am today...and I was working around my house until 10pm tonight. I took one of my guests in to my friends gift shop for an hour...and that's when I took a break. I came home, and was outside in the freezing cold...again...only this time my husband was helping me....to decorate my house for Christmas is a HUGE job. It is 3500 square feet and it has 14 rooms in it...it's not like decorating 1 bedroom at my mom and dad's house by sticking a wreath on the door. It's like decorating at a resort...only I do everything here. I have 3 couples coming tomorrow...and I have a billion things to do tomorrow before they get here.

I have to bake cookies-which sounds easy...but not when your making 10-15 dozen at a time, and you have all the dishes and cleaning up to do. I have to prep all the food for breakfast for Saturday. I have to clean 2 bathrooms. I have to wash the sheets and clean the room that the one guest is in tonight, and get it ready for tomorrow night. I have to finish decorating. Tonight I made snack baskets for all the rooms.

I just want to know how old you are...I know your in your 30's....but I wasn't sure exactly how old you are.

Posted by MotleyRulz (Member # 3598) on :

Never said Craig did his own cleaning. Here again 2 completely different lines of work and never said anything about your hubby working and never said regular people didn't work as hard as actors. I'm a regular person why would I do that?

Im just p!ssed at the double standard. They get these young, beautiful girls to be in these movies so the guys have something nice to look at, and what do we women in the audience get? Some craggy looking leather-faced guy!

I rented 88 MINUTES (a terrible movie, by the way) the other night cuz my husband loves Al Pacino. Even my HUSBAND had to say it was ridiculous that they had all these 25 year old women (who were built like brick houses, by the way) fawning over Al Pacino whose starting to look like my Father!

How can you say we're shallow for judging the actor by his looks? Why do you think they picked that actress to be in this film? I dont KNOW her but I'm sure she ain't no Dame Judi Dench!

So....we should hire actors for their acting chops and actresses for how good they look in a bikini? Bullocks!

Whats next? A remake of WHEN HARRY MET SALLY with Robert DeNiro and Jessica Alba?????

Ewwwww.... [Frown]

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

At least I know not to watch 88 Minutes-I was thinking that might actually be worth checking out.

It is a double standard.

I just do not find Daniel Craig even remotely attractive.

My husband is 42, and he looks better than Daniel Craig.

My point is the same as mamamia's....they always get women that are 20 or more years younger than the guy, and that's OK...but nobody accepts it reversed.

I just can't believe they can't find any man that's good looking...I don't think Christian Bale is good looking either-he gives me the creeps. He reminds me of the Count from Sesame Street.

The guy I liked alot back when, was Reb Brown. He played Captain America. They are remaking that now too.

Posted by MotleyRulz (Member # 3598) on :

As I said in an earlier post, the Ian Fleming true story version of James Bond was not based upon looks he was supposed to be more rugged, worn looking. There is no double standard. If you actually knew something about the books you'd know that and why didn't you mention the double standard earlier or are you simply jumping on the train since somebody else said it and you had no basis for an argument? They went away from a pretty boy Bond look to a more rugged version to stick closer to the stories. You expecting everyone to look good says a little something about shallowness......

Wow, so you all think Daniel Craig isn't hot?? [Confused]

I found him extremely sexy in Casino Royale (haven't seen the new one yet), am I the only person on here who thought so???

Concerning the Bond-girl: I think Bond girls HAVE to be young and hot and good looking... it's part of the story and part of the appeal of the movie. A guy can have a weathered face and still be sexy as hell, but a woman with a leathery face... wouldn't work.

Actually they have gotten women 20 years older or older than the guy and it's been accepted. Ever heard of Desperate Housewives (even though you may not like it it has a huge fanbase)? How Stella Got Her Groove Back (although the hubby left her later in real life it still worked for awhile)? Ever saw a movie called Copycat starring Sigourney Weaver?

I am aware that Daniel Craig apparently DOES have women who find him attractive. I just started this whole ball of fury by saying I, for one, did not find him attractive at all (I think MOTLEY thinks ISIS said it first, but if you go back you'll see it was me). I think up until him the Bonds have always been pretty good looking guys. Pierce Brosnon has never really floated my boat but he's an attractive man, I'll give him that. So maybe I expected somebody like him this time around? I don't know. For every woman whos ays they DONT find the new guy attractive Im sure you'll find a woman who DOES.

Now Hugh Jackman! Theres a face I'd pay to see!

Maybe Im just not patial to blondes.

I do like Hugh Jackman....but no picture of Daniel Craig is going to sway me. Now...from the neck down he's good to go...and I don't have anything against gray haired men.

I think Richard Gere in Pretty Woman was one of the best looking guys I have ever seen. Daniel Craig doesn't have it...in my book, but your all free to lust after whomever you want.

Posted by Pittsburghgirl (Member # 7514) on :

I think Daniel Craig looks pretty hot. The thing I have a problem with is when they cast a woman in a "mother" part to a "daughter" who is in reality only 5-10 years younger than her! I see it all the time now. I read somewhere that Molly Shannon, who is I think 44, plays mother to Selma Blair, who is 37 or 38, in some stupid show Kath and Kim. That is only 6 years age difference. Good lord, I just hope that doesn't ever come true in real life, haha!

Posted by ISIS (Member # 1780) on :

They have been doing that for a long time. The woman that played the mother in Gone with the wind to Scarlett was only 3 years older than her in real life.

Posted by Pittsburghgirl (Member # 7514) on :

Yes, you would be the expert on that.

I seen the new Bond flick this past week...I liked it. I haven't seen many, but think I might start to funnel through a few...i start with some of your earlier suggestions. A question......I know there are 22 or so Bond movies....are each of them based on one of Flemming's books, or did they simply run with the character? How many Bond books did he write?

Bullocks!

Whats next? A remake of WHEN HARRY MET SALLY with Robert DeNiro and Jessica Alba?????

mama,

You really crack me up! I love ya... [Big Grin]

Maybe Im just not patial to blondes.

mam,

You know, Hugh has a new movie coming out called Australia...

Here's the poster:

All I can stare at in that photo is how Nicole's neck has been photoshopped. Yucky job.

I never liked Nicole Kidman in anything...I think she is highly over rated. I never thought she was good looking either. She looks aneroxic in that picture.

Hugh Jackman's fingernails look gross and disgusting in that picture. They should have photoshopped them.

Maybe the role required him to be dirty looking. Talk about someone obsessed with minute details...... [Roll Eyes]

Here is the imdb page for the movie. He plays a cattlehand, for goodness sakes! Good lord,if everyone isn't completely perfect in a picture, then she is not happy. I thought this thread was about Bond pictures anyway?
I am not exactly a fan of Nicole's either, but I do like The Others. Anyone who was married to Tom Cruise for that long has to be loonie.

I liked The Others and I thought Cold Mountain was brilliant....I could care less what she looks like.

Wow, 80'sRocked.. Those are exact my two favourite movies starring Nicole Kidman. Cold Mountain was indeed brilliant.

I also very much liked Dead Calm. But that was due to the magnificent performance of Billy Zane in that movie.

ISIS, you are the only woman I know who looks at Hugh Jackman and sees...fingernails!

I dont even see his hands in that picture. Am I losing it?????

And, yeah, I'm certain he's playing a rough boy. Mama likey! But thats the appeal of Hugh Jackman for me...he looks good gritty and he looks good cleaned up. And some guys have a nice face and a not so hot body or vice versa but he has BOTH!

It is true...I do have a "thing" about men's hands....so I do notice them in everything. I can't stand dirty fingernails, or long fingernails on men...but I can't stand short fingernails on women either. I don't like men with girlie hands, they have to have big strong hands, or I am totally turned off by their hands. It is one of the first things I ever notice about a person. I understand the role he played required him to be grubby, and that I am being nit picky...but that honestly is what I noticed immediately in that picture. Oh well.

Oh...I see his hand now...its near her head. HAHAHAHA! Honestly, I could not see his hand before. It was like WHERES WALDO?! It was riving me crazy!

Oh you would hate my hands/nails...Im a biter.

I've always like Nicole Kidman. This is definitely NOT a flattering picture of her. Hey, we all age (she's 41) but she still looks good to me. I've always like Hugh in all of his movies as well. He may be "hunky" and all, but, I have a better beard! heheee... [Big Grin]

If you squint your eyes and look at it, then it looks like his hands are part of her hair. The thing I noticed were his hands and her chin...I don't know why that's why stood out to me in the picture...

My mom asked me the other night if I'd go see this movie with her at the theater.

I watched Cold Mountain and The Others, and I did like both movies, I just was never crazy about her in anything. It wasn't that she did a bad acting job or anything...it's just something about her personally that I never really liked her much...that's why I think she's over rated...but then I start thinking who to compare her to...to make her over rated, and then the more I do that- the more I think...well, maybe she isn't so bad after all.
