Okay, so I saw previews for this movie called...dum dum.... PROM NIGHT. Oh please tell me this isn't another wasted remake of a classic?

yes it is...and as you can tell by the commercial...the plot here has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the original movies premise. Sigh.

Oh boy another remake. I hate remakes. I'm still ****ed about the remake of Wicker Man. Why do people keep trying to fix things that aren't broken?

if the story of prom night is different then the origonal one then i dont think its a remake. it could just have the same name

the plots are similar indeed, but i'm not sure if it's an official remake of the 1980 version?

I don't think it is a remake. If so it is extremely loosely based. I think it just uses the same title. I think that the film was actually going to be called "A Night to Die For", which would have been good too. But I bet they changed it so that people would be attracted to it because they would think it was a remake. It actually looks pretty good. There is this big display at out movie theater and when you open it up you hear screaming and lights flashing. Pretty cool display actually.

I think it's another case of someone taking an old movie and trying to make it better...which remains to be seen.
