Comedy character actor D|ck Wilson dies of natural causes at age 91. [Frown]

He is best known from 1964 to 1985 as "Mr. Whipple", the grocer who told people "don't squeeze the Charmin" in Charmin's toilet tissue commercials.

His daughter, Melanie Wilson, was in the "Perfect Strangers" sitcom.

He was the only one. Charmin never used another actor.

Perhaps you were thinking of the lonely Maytag Repairman? He was played by several people over the years, mostly by Jesse White (1967 to 1988) and later by Gordon Jump (1989-2003).
