OK, here's the scoop. My all time favorite band is U2, and for the first time, they are coming to the Maritimes to perform...in Moncton, New Brunswick...only about a 3 hour drive away from me.

The catch? It's an annual outside venue that is about our only chance to get to see some of the bigger bands...that being said...it will attract approximately 100,000 people! Catch # 2? I really am not a fan of big crowds like this. I wish I could say I was a bit more adventureous and would laugh at the face of danger, but alas, I'm a bit like a skittery cat when it comes to crowds like this. Not in too whimpy of a way, rather, I'm not really good at keeping my mouth shut when someone is trampling on me, or pushing and shoving....I'm quite likely to tell them to go f$@k themselves and puff my chest out in challenge. My fear is...in a crowd this big...how likely is it that there will be problems, and how can they possibly mange a crowd that big. Also not wanting to see my idols for the first time as a dot on a stage I can barely see. So...should I take the plunge, or, plan ahead (save money) to see them at a more reasonable venue?

Kev I think you should go!!!

My mom is a huge U2 fan and she's always been the cool mom that took me to concerts ever since I was tiny. She went all the way to Scotland for a vacation and so she could go to Ireland to see them in concert........and she said it was one of the best experiences....I'm with you on the huge crowds.....they aren't as fun as the smaller venues but honestly.....you're going to always regret it Kev. [Smile] but I've never been to a show THAT large.....only Tina Turner it wasn't that huge we had seats so far away but my favorite part was walking up front to the side of the stage and watching Tina up close for a tiny while.........and the fact I can say I saw her lol

kev.. I'm with you about hating huge crowds, but sometimes it more about the fun of the journey than the experience itself. I have more regrets about concerts that I missed, than any that I attended and they didn't live up to my expectations.

Watching and listening to one of your fav bands live is an incredible thing .. I vote that you should do it!

Thanks for the input guys....I guess I can't not go! Likely my only chance to see them....hope they play my fav....Sunday Bloody Sunday. Kevlar....hmmm....good idea Paul. If I was more into fantasy movies, Kevlar could have been my user name!
