Oooh Riptide! You rock!! I never heard the Whodini song but they are an old school hip/hop type of group right?
I LOVE the Flock of Seagulls song, "Nightmares"!! Never would have thought to include it but it totally fits! YES!!
In fact, there's quite a few on your list I haven't heard including the Siouxsie & Cure songs! I'm all over those tonight! Must check em out!!
Whoo! Thanks again!! Anybody else? Anyone? Anyone?? Hahahaha !!

Glad to be of help Cindy. Yes, Whodini was a real good old school hip hop group, their Freaks come out at night was a good one too.
There's a lot of good, early Siouxsie and Cure songs that are creepy. Siouxsie's Melt is good. Try Bauhaus's Bela Lugosi's Dead too. Also try 45 Grave's Riboflavin which is more campy and goofy. B52's Devil in my Car as well. I'm going to try and dig up an old thread on this topic.

Oh yeah, I remember "The Freaks Come Out At Night!" WOW!!! You are quite the wealth of knowledge on this! Was there an old thread? I kinda thought so!

I'm pretty sure over the years we have had some good lists of Halloween songs somewhere, probably a bunch I named are on there as well.
Freaks come out at night was a great old school hip hop song (my jam), Whodini don't get their due enough because RUN DMC came out a little after and brought Hip Hop to the mainstream, so they get neglected.

Riptide, I never thought I'd hear you say a Whodini song was your JAM! Hahaha! Great! Ur right, they deserve their props!

80's New Wave will always be dearest to my heart, but I love the old rap era like the Wild Style/KrushGroove/Beat Street films. I even went to a Big Daddy Kane concert this year!

Some Kate Bush stuff sounds a bit 'witchy'.

althought it's not 80s, the song IRREVERSIBLE (instrumental) by vhs or beta is creepy and the band has a total 80s sound (think duran duran). you can listen to the song for free HERE
also, 80s movies scores are awesome. i suggest music from christine, prince of darkness, halloween 2, etc.
i also love who can it be now, by men at work. not a scary song, but kind of gives you that feeling of invasion, such as rockwell's somebody's watching me.
