I remember reading in metal edge magazine that the Ricky character really had a band. and were featured in metal edge once. I'll try and get the info for you.

The character of "Ricky" is played by Patrick Kane, and the guy he kills is Bernie Menis. Patrick sang, and Bernie played drums for a band called "Forgotten Child" here is a link to their 1st CD.
