Isn't it really awesome how a song seems to make a moment in time feel like it was frozen right in that moment. Does anyone ever hear a song and it immediately takes them back to a moment in their life when that song was playing somewhere in the background in a moment of your life, and you associate that song then with a great memory? I was listening to "Suddenly" by Olivia Newton-John and Cliff Richard (thanks Logan5)...and all of a "sudden" I thought about when I use to play this song on the jukebox at this pizza joint that we use to go to when my mom use to play softball...after a game, we always went to this place called "Murdocks" they all got beer and pizza...this place had the best pizza...and I remember loving how cool it was there, it was very dimly light and it had that beer & pizza smell to it, it was in a building that looked like a regular house, on one side was a bar with a pool table, the other side was tables, and there was this game thing-I don't even know what it was called, but it was like a long wooden board that you slid these heavy metal puck things down it, and it had numbers on it and you tried to make your puck land on a certain area, and we would try and knock the other person's puck off the board. I remember me and my brother...and my 2 friends Davey and Corey -we would play that game all night, and beg for money for the jukebox, and I remembering playing Suddenly in that jukebox. I get very nostalgic over music alot, and then I get bummed cause I miss those times of my life, and the people I knew then, and I wanted to go back again, and be a kid again, and see my Dad and my Grandma and my Aunt and all my childhood friends. That is always the worst thing about memories to me, is they are only in my mind, and not real any more.

I know what you mean. There are some songs that I absolutely cannot listen to because there are so many memories attached. Some of them are new songs, too...Rascal Flatts' "What Hurts the Most" and Taylor Hicks' American Idol song "Do I Make You Proud" are two such songs. Then I hear songs like Alice Cooper's "Might as Well Be On Mars" and they bring back totally different memories.

I can make myself totally bawl over songs....anything by Bread makes me sad-especially the song-Everything I Own, and when I hear songs I know my Dad liked...Baker Street and Right Down the Light were 2 of his favorite songs. I thought about my Dad alot today cause of Father's Day. It was almost unintentional too, cause I keep actually forgetting it is father's day. I just was thinking about stuff we did when I was a kid, and I miss him alot.

Good example here: every time I listen to my Purple Rain soundtrack, I get all trippy & start thinking about the time I went to Mexico with my grandma...good times! [Big Grin]

Well...when I listen to Purple Rain, I think about when I went to the Prom, and I think about when I bought that album I was in the 11th grade, and me and my high school boyfriend use to listen to that album all the time, we liked "Take Me with You". It definately has some great memories attached to it for me as well.
