Some of the best music videos of all time were made in the 80's...

1) A-HA 'Take On Me', say what you will about the band, but this song and its groundbreaking video still stands up today. In a world where everyone uses CGI and green-screens, Morton Harket's sketch-to-flesh-to-sketch transformation is an effective, innovative crowd pleaser.

2) QUEEN, 'A Kind Of Magic', good film ('Highlander'), nice song, fine animation.

3) GEORGE MICHAEL, 'Faith', classic George, very cool video to a great song (cleverly reworked by Michael recently as an anti-war song)

4) LIVE AID 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' ('Feed The World')/ BERLIN 'Take My Breath Away', tied at four good cause on Crusie control, all together now: "but thank God its them instead of you".

5) AEROSMITH & RUN DMC 'Walk This Way' Clever, cheeky crossover that sounds like a terrible idea on paper, but went onto become one of the best videos of all time.

My favorite 80s video would have to be "Reach" by Martini Ranch.

The group was a dance outfit with industrial overtones and Bill Paxton was the lead singer. Members of Devo and The B-52s were involved in the group as well.

The "Reach" video takes place in a semi-futuristic Wild West where a convict (Paxton) is on the run from a posse of women vigilantes.

The video was directed by James Cameron, and besides Paxton, a few more "Aliens" stars appeared in the video including Jenette Goldstein, Lance Henriksen and Paul Reiser. There were also cameos by Judge Reinhold, Bud Cort and "Near Dark" director Kathryn Bigelow.

Sincerely,

John Kilduff...

Try tracking it down...I think you'll like it.

1. A-HA "Take On Me" is the coolest music video of all time. The comic book premise pulling you into its world then you finding a way to bring your fantasy to life.

 -

2. Peter Gabriel "Sledgehammer" no idea what that's about, but fun to watch.

3. Guns & Roses "November Rain" -who would have thought Axle and Stephanie Seymour weren't gonna last.

4. Prince "1999" -before your Doves Can Cry, you need to party like it's 1999.

5. Robert Palmer "Addicted To Love" - hot chicks with instruments and you're so convinced that they know how to play them.

Riptide-I have never heard anyone ever mention Aldo Nova ever (except me)...I love him...I love the song Fantasy...I have never ever seen any video though that he was ever in.

I love the song Synchronicity 2, and never saw the video for it either.

NWA's Straight Outta Compton was probably one of my fave rap videos. I'm not that big of a rap fan, but I must say they got my attention when a video of theirs came on...

Isis, Aldo Nova is a Montreal artist actually, really wish you could see the Fantasy video, pretty cool. That's the only song I know from him, but thinking about purchasing a greatest hits.

And isis, you have to see the video for Synchronicity 2, it's really cool. Sting was in his Dune phase and looks psychotic. It can be seen easily on the few Police video DVD packages. Wrapped around your finger was a cool video too.

NWA was so in your face and hard hitting, that groups like them and Public Enemy even got rock fans excited back then.

Riptide-Get Aldo Nova's greatest hits. I love every song on that CD. My favorite song is "Your my Love", and my 2nd favorite is "It's too Late"....then "Foolin Yourself"...Ball and Chain is an awesome song too...if you like Fantasy you'll love the CD.

I like the video for "Wrapped around your Finger...I always wondered who got burnt severely when all the candle wax went flying...

I also like the video for "Every Breath You Take".
