I've heard of this band for years but have never heard any of their material or for that matter not quite sure what kind of music they play. Are they any good? If so what songs do you recommend by them? They're going to be playing at a club here in a couple weeks and am curious if they'd be worth seeing or if I should save my nickel.

Hipstermom? Ronnie? Anybody?

hello sam. i have only heard a few songs by this group and what i heard was nothing special to me or didn't even make me want to hear more. i cannot tell you the names of the songs i heard though [Frown] .
i'm not sure exactly how to classify camper, but i would have to say the sound is....alternative?

Hello Sam

Their best track was "Take The Skinheads Bowling" which was once covered by Teenage Fanclub. The singer went on to form another band - Cracker, a few years back, who were also pretty good.

I guess you'd call them an indie guitar band, along the lines of Diesel Park West, or maybe The Gin Blossoms??

indie sounds about right, but i'm not sure about the gin blossoms comparison. but since i haven't heard all their songs, i know nothing really hehe [Wink]

I've heard of the group's name, but I never heard their material. So, I can't comment on them. Sorry.

I saw a video they did on VH1 Classic. It was pretty decent...80s alternative is more my thing than 90s alternative and I liked what they did. I forget the video title, though.

Sincerely,

John Kilduff...

I think it might've been "Take The Skinheads Bowling".
