my all time favorite song by U2 is the slow and long 'all i want is you.' i remember the video being about a midget who's in love with some woman and it was in black and white. the song was also on the 'reality bites' soundtrack. but i also like 'new year's day' & 'i still haven't found what i'm looking for' alot too. not to mention, the voice of BONO.

U2 was awesome in the 80s and i love the WAR cd.
lately, i haven't been too impressed with anything they have put out. and though i haven't heard their new cd HOW TO DISMANTLE THE ATOMIC BOMB, i don't care for the first released single, 'vertigo' which is featured in an ipod commercial that has been played to death.

who else likes U2, ... or doesn't? [Cool]

I also need to add

Two Hearts Beat as One
Mysterious Ways

The Joshua Tree is one of the best albums of all time. I agree with Ronnie that Bono has one amazing voice.

I don't really like 80's U2. I much prefer 90's U2 - "The Fly", "Hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me", "Beautiful Day", I could go on forever.
Of the 80's songs, I like Desire. That's about it actually.

"The Electric Co." is my fave, and "I Will Follow" is also a classic, but I haven't liked anything since The Joshua Tree to be honest.

Early U2:
-I Will Follow
-Two Hearts

Later U2:
-One

My SO gave me the new CD for xmas...I was thinking, why didn't he give me The Smashing Pumpkins GH that I mentioned...but I gave it a try and it's pretty good...I just don't like Vertigo because it got overplayed right away, so I just skip that one. Bono is really digging deep into relationship issues and those are always their songs I like best.

Okay I can't believe I haven't seen "With or Without You" on here yet. I love that song. If I could make a compilation CD of favorite love songs that one would definately be on there.

"With or without you....with or without you...."

I really love "Beautiful Day"....I never really paid attention to it before, but when a friend put that music to the back ground of a slide show on a DVD he made for me with pictures of Joanna Cameron...that were of us together, and of her stills from the "Secrets of Isis" tv show, it was the perfect music, because it is very uplifting and now it has a personal meaning for me, and I love that.. when music can do that for you.

I also like Pride-In the Name of Love, because of what a great message that song had in it.

80's U2 beat out 90's U2 anyday!

Joshua Tree is a Classic album.......a great album......I own the actual album...lol....with the fold out B&W of the band. An awesome print.

The guitar on Where the Streets gets me everytime. I Still Haven't Found and With or Without You I love to death.

I Will Follow.....and All I Want Is You...are favorites of mine too.

My mother actually rocks out to Vertigo....and it's growing on me......but nothing close to the 80's favs.

1. Sunday, Bloody Sunday
2. Desire
3. Where The Streets Have No Name
4. Beautiful Day

Although I have always been an avid U2 fan, I was a little disappointed in "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb."

Like many here I loved 80's U2, but was left feeling slightly cold with most (but not all) of their 90's stuff. Anyhow...

Bullet The Blue Sky
In God's Country
All I Want Is You
Angel Of Harlem
Hawkmoon 269
Silver & Gold
Heartland
God Part 2
Even Better Than The Real Thing
Discotheque
The Sweetest Thing
Beautiful Day

Rattle & Hum especially was the DON, easily among my personal top 10 albums of all-time [Cool]

Early U2: Sunday Bloody Sunday
Later U2: Beautiful Day or Numb
Today U2: Vertigo

Anyway, the main reason I am posting is because I am trying to see U2 in Denver. Just to give you an example of what I am up against, there are a few sellers out there that are looking to get a few dollars out of their investment, and I respect that. However, I ran across an ad from a guy in GA that has 2 GA (Gen. admission) tixs for the low low price of $1200!!!!! This is his 'Buy It Now' price! And people wonder why ticket prices have gone threw the roof. I dont blame U2 or any band for that matter, but ebay is the one that I am pointing fingers at for the gouge in the prices. Maybe I am niave, but I still think that a band goes on tour so people can hear their music live for a reasonable price. I understand supply vs. demand, but this is outragous! The bands HAVE upped the cost for their concerts a bit for expenses, abd I dont mind paying a few extra dollars ti see them in their 'new' show. The old fashioned way for them to make the 'gravy-money' was off the sale of t-shirts. I hate the thought of spending a minimum of $100 to see a band before buying a $30 shirt that wont fit after the first time I wash it. Sorry for the rant, but I am sure that I am not alone in this.

My favorite is when the song ends and something else from a different band starts to play. Not a U2 fan at all, never understood how they stayed around this long.

thanks for all the replies fellers.
glad to see that most of us like, and have always liked, U2.
I am listening to Gloria as we speak.
this band is just superb and has made some great ones within the last 20 years.
