Another great 80's band that i am listening to again, I Smell Winter, The Mighty Ship, Happy Hour are superb.

Very British band so i don't know if they went down well across the pond.

Over to you good people.

Good band, they became the Beautiful South later on. But good brainy pop, they might deny it, but Barenaked Ladies must have been influenced on some of their softer songs.

I love the whole Now That's What I call Quite Good album, great band.

I wasn't aware that they became the Beautiful South, though! Interesting.

I'm more familiar with Beautiful South, but I know they came from the ashes of the Housemartins. BS opened for Barenaked Ladies in the US back in 99 [think it was]...coincidence? I think not.

Ya, 'Song For Whoever' by The Beautiful South. That is a good one.

I also really like Happy Hour by The Housemartins.
