I had heard some people say it was a great movie, and some said it wasn't.

I decided to check it out for myself. I heard my friend had it on DVD so, we both decided to watch it. And her and I were both amazed at how much we enjoyed it. We both cried at the ending, though. And we also praised Haley Joel Osment's acting. What a great actor he is.

So, what did you guys think of it? I thought it was amazing!

It's a good one-trick movie. I had it all figured out early on--the scene where Bruce Willis is late for his anniversary dinner with Olivia Williams. But it's one of M. Night Shyamalan's better films because if you go back and revisit it, anytime ghosts are around there is red in the scene, and you can see the human characters' breath because it's cold. It's put together pretty well. I like Unbreakable a lot more, as well as Signs (at least before it turned completely stupid) and Wide Awake too. After that, Shyamalan's ego really got the better of him--reading all those press clippings that he was the next Spielberg--and his films became total dreck. I dare anyone not to laugh out loud at the brain dead and stupid The Happening...or The Village...or Lady in the Water...or After Earth...or The Last Airbender. Now he has a TV series and an el cheapo Blumhouse horror film.

Crash, as far as The Village goes, I thought it would have been more interesting if there actually was some mythological beast in the woods. That movie was absolute trash!

I never liked any of his movies at all. To me there are no good ones. there are only ones that are not quite as bad as another.

Spielberg is in a class of his own.

I guessed the big gimmick to The Village right after the credits. It's a positively dreadful film. That's the problem with this guy. Most of his stuff is just one note. There's no attention to character development, plotting, or anything else, just cover for the big secret. He's a terrible filmmaker.

I did love The Village, Signs, The Sixth Sense and The Happening!
Also, his new TV series, Wayward Pines starring Matt Dillon is awesome. It's put together really well.

I think the gimmick was fairly obvious. We are trying to create some utopian society by pretending it's the 18th century but don't even try to venture off because there is a beast in the woods that will kill you. I mean, come on.

That's my point exactly Crash, he falls down trying to create this great twist "that nobody could guess" when sometimes it would just be more interesting without that twist. I think the film would actually have been better had they actually had a beast in the woods.
