This was on of Sylvester Stallone's possible comeback movies of the early 90's. He didn't have much success after, Demolition Man bombed, even though I liked it.

Cliffhanger starred Sly, Michael Rooker, John Lithgow, and Janine Turner, oh and I think the Walton's dad. They get caught up in a mountain adventure that tracks a group of terrorist robbers. I love the angst that Stallone gets on his face. Like when he fought in Rocky, when he hung from that cliff he was so believable that he was hanging on by the tips of his fingers. It was a comeback movie that was unfortunately only a success in itself.

What do you guys think about this film?

I really like Cliffhanger. Its a good action/adventure movie.Sly was perfect casting for the film i think.
And he was quite brave to do it as well 'cos he is well known for suffering quite badly with vertigo.Naturally it was stuntmen who performed the really crazy high climbing stunts, but Sly did do some of the less dangerous stunts on the mountain. So for a vertigo sufferer thats real brave.
But yeah...great movie.

Comeback indeed! I loved Cliffhanger. Sly was awesome. I loved when he was under the ice and shot that dude witht the spike gun. As much as I liked it I still don't own the DVD. I need to take care of that right away.
Sly's career has been a let down to me with shows like Cop Land, I See You, Driven and Get Carter.
I did, however, enjoy Demolition Man, The Specialist, Daylight and Assassins.
He is still one of my favorite action heroes.
