Well I can't believe I haven't covered this one yet. Absolutely the best western ever in my opinion. NOt my favorite genre of film but this one takes the cake. All star cast and all star acting. Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday was absolutely priceless.

Kurt Russell, Bill Paxton, Sam Elliott, Dana Delaney, Jason Priestly, Billy Zane, oh and we can't forget Billy Bob Thornton, Thomas Haden Church, and Powers Boothe.

Magnetism is what I think of when I see this movie. I realize that there have been many other movies made about Tombstone, Wyatt Earp, and Doc Holliday but this one will forever be in my heart as the best.

I am watching it right now and the cinematography is amazing. Kurt Russell looks just like my brother-in-law. If he would dress up like Kurt did as Wyatt Earp you would have to do a double take and make sure it wasn't him.

What do you all think about this 1993 western?

Awesome filmaking. One of my favorite westerns. I think Doc couldn't have been more perfectly cast. Kilmer was cool as ice in this one. I liked his little phrases he would say in it.. "I'm your Huckleberry." "Why Johnny RIngo, you look like someone just walked over your grave." and... "You're a daisy if you do."
Kurt Russell held his own as Wyatt and Sam Elliott is just a veteran of westerns. Man I love that guy's voice. I wish I could get him to record the greeting on my cell phone!
Great casting all around.
The action was intense and very well done.
I loved that scene where the guy in the tent went to put that opium pipe in his mouth and it was actually the burrel of Wyatt's gun. That was funny.
Good subject, JLP!
If you liked this western you should try some of my other favorites... The Outlaw Josey Whales, Silverado, Unforgiven and Open Range.

I enjoyed Silverado quite a bit. Scott Glenn's intensity works well no matter which side of the law he's on. Danny Glover was great, Kevin Kline was decent and Brian Dennehey mad a pretty good bad guy, but Kevin Costner stole the show.
