Kubrick's sick satire is somewhat of a mini-masterpiece, this is a movie that intrigues and repells in equal measure, an undoubtedly powerful story helped by a powerhouse performace by Malcolm MacDowel.

I love it. It was made over 30 years ago and is still pretty shockingly strange today.

An awesome movie. It's probably my favorite Kubrick film. '2001' and 'The Shining' are close seconds, but I can watch 'Clockwork' over and over.

I saw it once in an art-house theatre in the early 80's, even though the movie itself first came out in 1971. I might want to see it again.

But my favorite Kubrick movie is still "Dr. Strangelove" (1964).

Can you believe how real Kubrick wanted that movie to be?

DOH! I completely forgot about 'Strangelove' StevenHW. Thanks for reminding me, now I have to rethink my list.

I'm glad Kubrick was able to make it as real as he did Avenger, it just wouldn't be the same movie otherwise. I understand that it was banned in Britain initially.

i would assume clockwork orange. strangelove really has nothing offensive in it, except george c. scott's hilarious monologue about how tough russians are. "general turgidson, i WISH you would stick to the point!"

oh, and i guess all those risque names everybody has.

i've got a pretty strong stomach for movie violence, but clockwork orange has always been a tough one for me to take.

I like it. I have two female friends who couldn't sit through it and will never watch it again. I guess I'm a little more de-sensitized to violence than they are. Okay a lot.

The movie was fairly violent for its time, when it came out in 1971. By today's standards, it doesn't seem like much.

I loved this movie, as it was so way ahead for it's time... and to try to take someone like Alex and change him with the experimental treatment was great...

Sure, it was abit graphic, but I think also of it's dark humor, and the sensual, sadistic kind of music that were in the scenes...this movie was way ahead of it's time, that's for sure..

To have Malcolm McDowell play such a character, where he was so awful at first, yet we still pitied him when he was going back into the world after the treatments as a new man.. just weird how this character should be dispicable, yet hard to hate....

Yes, it's supposed to be the future. I read the book too, by the way.
