Has anyone seen this 1968 movie? My son read about it in a Motor Trend magazine, apparently it has one of the best car chases ever filmed. I just bid on it. My son is rapidly becoming a huge Steve McQueen fan.

I also bid on the movie-The Hunter with Steve McQueen, I saw it a long time ago, and I know there was something about this creepy guy in it that scared the heck out of me, but the whole movie is very cloudy in my mind, has anyone else seen it?

I saw "Bullitt" in the theaters years ago. Great police thriller! [Smile]

And it is indeed an action-packed movie with one of the all-time great car chase scenes in it.

McQueen (who was a big auto racing buff) did his own driving stunts in the movie. [Cool]

The guy who produced "Bullitt" also later produced "The French Connection" (1971), and "The Seven-Ups". Both of those had outstanding car chases.

I have not seen "The Hunter". Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that was his last movie.

Isis, I would also recommend to your son the modern-day Western "Junior Bonner", in which McQueen plays a rodeo cowboy. And also the original version of "The Getaway" (1972). Both films were directed by the late Sam Peckinpah.

I am a huge Steve McQueen fan. I have Bullit and a lot more of his movies on DVD. I also have a 12" action figure of Steve McQueen on a German Motorcycle from The Great Escape. I have a carded Steve McQueen action figure from Bullit and I plan on getting the die cast mustang from Bullit. Bullit does have quite a car chase in it. The Hunter was indeed his last film. My favorite McQueen movies were The Great Escape and Papillion. Three of his movies have been remade...The Getaway, The Thomas Crown Affair and...well, I forgot...
I liked his old tv series too...Wanted Dead Or Alive...oh yea, they remade that series into a movie too.

Just watched Bullitt, still great stuff!
I love the San Francisco scenery.
The bullets really hurt people in this flick.
