The talk about burnt offerings reminded me of this little goofy gem from 1978 -- which i actually was just recently able to get a copy of. it's a little tricky to find.
the premise is that this woman starts to grow an indian god on the back of her neck, and this other indian has to make a magic circle in her hotel room to contain this evil indian god -- which is played by this INCREDIBLY muscular, long-haired midget -- and then in the end there's this incredible light show battle with asteroids and ice everywhere and stuff. it's incredibly weird and totally hilarious.
anybody else ever see this? it was a midnight staple on broadcast t.v. for a while, along with burnt offerings and movies like "patrick."

Okay, I think you took acid and IMAGINED that one. I never heard of it...or anything so strange! I am going to imdb to look it up. Manitou, you say????

you haven't lived until you see the scene where the old lady gets possessed by satan, floats above the ground and falls down a flight of stairs. And tony curtis is in it! he plays a psychic who listens to 70s soft rock and wears a robe covered with half-moons.

it's funny no one else has heard of it. i guess they just happened to have it on the shelf at my local t.v. station, because it was seriously on like one a month.
"patrick" was the same way.

Are you in Australia???? Cuz from what I read on imdb PATRICK was an Australian movie. Im going to see if I can find a copy because it sounds sort of interesting. This made me think of a movie they used to play on CHILLER all the time as a kid: STANLEY. Does anyone remember that one? It was a guy who had mind control over snakes. Yes, snakes! It was a God awful movie but I used to watch it all the time...cuz it was on ...all the time! So was SQUIRM, the killer worm movie, another one I'm sure at least some people will remember.

patrick was indeed an australian movie, but i'm american. i think they just happened to have it on the shelf at the local independent t.v. station. it was okay, i'm pretty sure you can get it on dvd now. i think i put it on my queue, but don't quote me.
i feel vaguely like i remember stanley -- it sounds like maybe a riff off of "ben," that movie where the guy controls rats? guy's name, controls animals... could be.
oh, and i totally have squirm! the mst3k version. i love the wriggly huge worm carpet at the end, when the house is filling up with worms. "YOU gonna be the worm food!"
