Not that I was ever a big fan of "The Munsters" TV show, but I am not exactly looking forward to this. Mainly because I simply don't find any of the Wayans family being funny at all.

The following is an item from the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper.

"MUNSTERS" HIT HOME FOR THE WAYANS BROTHERS
August 25, 2004

Get ready for another "Munster" mash! None other than Keenen Ivory, Marlon and Shawn Wayans are set to bring their unique senses of humor to a big-screen remake of that 1960s TV comedy classic, "The Munsters".

Universal Pictures has inked a deal with the sibling trio to make a movie about the lovable family of friendly monsters who can never understand why people react in terror whenever they're spotted.

The Wayans brothers will co-write a script that Keenen Ivory is expected to direct -- though that won't be decided until the screenplay is completed. Though inspired by the CBS sitcom that starred Fred Gwynne and aired from 1964-'66, the Hollywood trades report the new film will be updated to match 21st century sensibilities.

Since Universal Studios is behind this project, I'm sure there's going to be a "Munsters"-themed ride or event in their studio amusement park in Burbank, Calif., in a few years.

It would be nice to see some of the cast members from the original show to be a part of this upcoming movie, but I doubt it. Most of the original cast members are either dead, too old, or have retired from show biz.

Sorry, but like the updated movie versions of "Garfield", "Starsky & Hutch", and "S.W.A.T.", I think I'll skip this one also! [Frown]

I loved that Munsters, and this is the stupidest thing that I have ever heard. I don't much care for the Wayans brothers either. That doesn't even make any sense. Are these people on drugs?

Has Hollywood run out of ideas? I'm so tired of all these 60's & 70's movies/TV shows being remade.

I am so sick of it too, leave the good stuff alone people. They ruin it. I could throw up when kids tell me they know who Starsky and Hutch are cause they saw the movie. Give me a break, like it was nothing like the show.

I use to like In Living Color, but the Wayans just have gotten terrible at comedy- Scary Movie is a perfect example. Make me gag.

I loved the Munsters, I loved Herman when he laughed really hard and stomped his feet and shook his hands, gosh he was hysterical! Nobody can recreate him.

I hated the Adams Family-I couldn't take the previews, so there was no way I was watching the movie. ICK!!!

Hollywood had no original ideas anymore. I mean there is nothing but reality shows on t.v. and as far as the movies all go they want to make movies about t.v. shows, and make them horrible.
