I saw "Exorcist: The Beginning" it's second day of release, and I must honestly say that it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. It is about a young Father Merrin, who was the old priest in the original "Exorcist". Sure it wasn't an excellent movie, and it doesn't deserve any Academy Award nominations, but it did have some interesting elements. The plot wasn't very original, it was LOADED with lots of gore, but the acting was exceptional. It seemed like it took cliched ideas from some 80s horror films, such as a door slamming behind Merrin by an invisible force. Still, it did have some entertaining parts, but the "exorcism" at the end was just plain laughable. If you are a horror fan who enjoys lots of freaky jumps, then this movie is for you. But if you are someone who likes to look for a good plot and originality, then I would either wait for the DVD release or don't even bother to see it. [Wink]
