I love all of the sci-fi that came from the 70s. My most favorite (besides Star Wars) would have to be the Battlestar Galactica series! You know the one where the "rag tag" group is searching for Earth, since their own planet was destroyed by the Cylons. The cylons were created by an amphibious group of creatures that hated humans. Most people remember the cylons because they had cool voices and a single red light that slid back in fourth like an eye across their faces. The cylons were created by an amphibious like species that hated humans. The amphibious species eventually became extinct but the cylons were still hunting humans trying to finish off those whom survived. The creatures that created the cylons, never appeared in the series. Glenn Larson, the creator of BSG went on to create Knight Rider (staring David Hasselhof). Glenn paid homage to BSG by putting a sliding red light in the front of the famous car that Michael Knight drove! Anyone who watched BSG knew that familar light from the cylons!I have the entire BSG series on VHS! Every year the sci-fi channel used to show a marathon of BSG on Christmas Eve. That was my favorite part of Christmas. That's how I got the entire series, I taped a marathon! I remeber they cancelled the show because each episode cost upwards of One Million bucks! so they cancelled it after one year. Then, they brought it back in 1980 with new characters. In this series they actually find Earth. BSG 1980 was an awful show. I know that Richard Hatch (apollo from the original series)is trying to revive BSG for either the big screen or the small screen. He even produced his own "trailer" for what he would like the film to be about. He has also written many novels that continue the story from where the series left off. If anyone is unfamilar to BSG, I suggest you get a copy of the DVD, or VHS. You might notice some comparisons to Star Wars (George Lucas sued over them), but the stories and adventures are all their own. It is definitly my favorite all time series! Well sorry I wrote som much about BSG, hopefully someone out there shares my love for this lost series. Or, maybe someone who has never had the chance to see any episodes will now make a point to catch them next time the appear on TV. If not, you don't know what you're missing!!!!!!!!!!
