I´ve seen it in the 80s and don´t remember much.

I would love to see it and also C.H.U.D.II -Bud the Chud horror/comedy again.

Ah, the 'Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers'. I've seen it back when it came out and liked it. I've seen it again just a couple of months ago and... still like it.
Its a cult-classic, so in a way, that says it all. It isn't greatness, but it's decent. (Mind you, I'm the same guy who prefered Beat Street over Breakin'.) It has John Heard and John Goodman starring, who aren't exactly known as bad actors.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed by it. I would certainly give it a try.

P.S. This movie won the international Festival of Fantasy Film in Brussels in 1985.

I watched it once in the 80's and I want to keep it that way. There's some movies out there I don't want to touch again, some of those Troma movies fall into that category as well.

Wow Riptide, you make it sound as if C.H.U.D. falls into the same category as those shock exploitation movies.
While really .. this isn't even shocking or overly gore at all. It's a B-movie yes. But I think a reasonably good one. Even the special effects were quite realistic for a low budget flick.

Oh well, guess this is one of them movies you either love or hate. As it is the case with all so called cult classics.

I NETFLIXed it and me and hubby were all psyched to cozy up and watch it (C.H.U.D.! How romantic!) and...the DVD had a huge crack in it! I've had this happend with NETFLIX before. I reported the problem but grumbled about it to anyone who would listen all weekend long. My husband said it was FATE telling me NOT to watch C.H.U.D....and then one of my friends came over and said the same thing!

Oh my GOODNESS!!! I cannot believe this is the first time I've watched this film. It is COMPLETELY up my street! A perfect blend of dingy crime investigation/drama/horror. It has well fleshed out likeable characters, perfect pacing, cute monsters, nice splat, grubby arseholes and all that beautiful, beautiful 80s GRAIN, oh how I adore thee <3 So many familiar faces and I particularly loved the guy who ran the soup kitchen who was one of the gits from Home Alone and a really sympathetic copper for a change. I was going to give it a 9 but screw that my mind is blown, wow [Big Grin] 10/10
