As most schools around the country start up again, I was curious what are some of your favorite back to school type movies.

Teachers, starring Nick Nolte and JoBeth Williams. And the theme song was performed by 38 Special.

I’d like to rewatch it. It’s on Vudu for $3.99. Too bad it’s not on any other streamers.

Hi ATomik,

Lean on Me and Teachers are great. I would add All the Right Moves, fitting in with the football aspect of the first half of the school year. Just One of the Guys takes place near the end of the school year, feeling more like a spring film to me. Enjoy.

A lot of great calls on back to school movies. Thanks! Didn't even think of All the right moves but definitely works well for the vibe I was thinking of.

I've never seen teachers, so will have to look in to that.

I've never seen Lucas, but I know it's about the football team, so does that fit in to the back to school vibe? Don't judge me for not seeing this movie!!!

Nice variety mentioned so far. My first choice is Fast Times, Real Genius, KarateKid and Revenge of the Nerds, yeah its a tie. Id like to mention some that aren't necessarily my favs but more fit the category. Wasn't 3 o'clock High a back to school. I can't remember, its been so long.

Hiding Out with Jon Cryer.
Class is a good one.

Most of that movie takes place at school and the football is only a small part of the movie toward the end. So yes I think it fits.

Since the title of this thread is "Back to School", I'm a bit surprised no one even mentioned the Rodney Dangerfield movie "Back to School". Probably the best of these school movies in my opinion. Also hello everyone, i haven't been on here in a long time and feeling a bit nostalgic lately.

Welcome back! I've been feeling the same lately. I'm sure I'll be diving in to a few 80's flicks in the coming weeks and hopefully have something to post about.
