This came out in 92, and I have no recollection of it being on. Guess I was too wrapped up in Parker Lewis can't lose. Kind of cool that a pre-Friends Jenn Aniston played Jeanie. Charlie Schlater had the Ferris vibe down pretty good. I just wonder why they took 6 after the movie to launch a tv series. Would have been much healthier if actually released on the 80's. Any thoughts?

I dont think I even saw it ONCE. I vaguely remember hearing that a promo for it had the kid who played Ferris destroying a picture of Matthew Broderick? Yeah...way to p!ss off your Target Audience!

I remember PARKER LEWIS. I never really liked that show but this was before I had cable so i watched it sometimes. PARKER LEWIS was obnoxious...which the Ferris Bueller in the movie was c0cky but an over-all LIKABLE kid...which is why he didnt bug me and Parker Lewis DID.

I think the people behind the FERRIS BUELLER TV show just had the misfortune of running too late...PARKER LEWIS beat them to it. In some peoples eyes they were ripping off PARKER LEWIS and in other peoples eyes they were ripping off a rip-off! (meaning they were ripping off PARKER LEWIS which was ripping off the FERRIS BUELLER movie).

I belive Ami Dolenz was in the FERRIS BUELLER show too, along with Jennifer Aniston?

In the pilot, Charlie Schlater has a life size poster of the Broderick Ferris and he takes chainsaw to it and cuts off the head. That was kind of lame. The principal who played Rooney in the show wasn't too great either. Ami Dolenz and Jenn Aniston were in it. I've only seen a few episodes thus far, so I can't totally tell if it's decent.

Parker Lewis was a bit gimmicky, but a good late 80's hangover for me. It could be because Billy Jacoby(Just One of the Guys) was in it. Principal Musso was funny too. I also believe that the big guy(his name escapes me)whose claim to fame came later as a med student/orderly on ER was in this too.

I do remember this show being on TV, but never watched it. I also remember the Weird Science show that was on TV. I never watched that one either.

Hughes never vouched for either of these, nor CBS's Uncle Buck series, so we can't really consider anything on them canonical. On the Ferris series, TV Land aired an episode as part of a spin-off block about 5 years back, but unfortunately I had college work to do and in the end only saw the end credits. Maybe some time down the line.

Now if they really wanted to make the connection to the film without cheapening it, my thought might be to have added framing sequences at the beginning and end of the show featuring the real cast preparing the watch the episode and commenting on what they expect the action to be. These would be no more than a minute at most, and thus they would have been able to mass produce footage of Broderick, Sara, Ruck, and whomever else they'd deem possible to slip in for the season in a day (same applies to the UB show, where they could have easily taped, say, Candy, Mac, and Gaby doing the same thing in 24 hours). Granted, having the "real" Ferris watching a fake one would make sense only to those who saw the film, but it certainly would have been an original twist if so, and you can never have enough of that these days.
