Hi, I just found this wonderful site. I thought that I was the only 80's movie geek out there. I'm glad to see that I'm not alone.

I was home recovering from a car accident the other day and found that "Youngblood" was playing on Spike TV. Besides being one of my 80's favorites mainly because one of my all time favorite Flyers (Peter Zezel) was seen heavily in the movie, it got me thinking about Cynthia Gibb. Does anyone know what happened to her? This may sound mean, but I wouldn't be surprised if she quit acting; she was terrible in that movie.

Thanks in advance.

She's still working and she's aged well. Take a look at her IMDB page:

How's it going Aruba? It's great to meet you.
I like Youngblood too (I can't stand Rocky though, he's evil).
I guess I agree with you on Cynthia Gibb although I like Death Warrant very much, the Van Damme film.
I hope you're okay now after your accident.

I haven't seen Cynthia Gibb in anything in such a long time. It is funny how you will see someone in a lot of stuff and then they just seem to drop off the face of the earth.

Movies to look for her in are:

The Karen Carpenter Story
Short Circuit 2
Death Warrant
Modern Girls--great fashion sense in this one, for the 80s!

Cynthia is still acting, mostly on TV shows and movies-made-for-TV.

Here's her IMDB profile:

Hello fellow newbie. Yes, it's funny how some actors/resses appear for a brief amount of time.

I guess it depends on the market, supply/demand of it all.

Some people fit just that one part.

Hey Aruba! Good to see another Pennsylvanian on here [Smile] ! I'm sure you'll find that we're a pretty cool bunch with some great taste in music and movies! Welcome aboard!

I see Youngblood was mentioned, great flick! I've come to realize that I am a hockey fan in the last few years. I've been going to see the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins every chance I get [Smile] ! As for Cynthia Gibb, I really liked her in Modern Girls. That is one of my favorite movies ever! I have seen her more recently in an episode of Law & Order SVU and yes, she still looks really good. Hasn't changed much at all!

I have been longing for a real dvd of Modern Girls for a long time now... at least it airs on tv pretty frequently!

Cynthia has been in quite a few tv movies the last few years. I like to call her Frederica Dumay now [Smile]

Thanks for everyone's well wishes on my recovery! Also thank you for all of the info and making me feel so welcome. I know I can always look people up on IMDB, but I was hoping for some inside scoop on Cynthia that isn't posted on there. Jeez, I really sound like her biggest fan-I'm not, just curious like the other posters said about "how she went from being "everywhere", to being nowhere".
