Just got the DVD. I heard the whole thing was filmed at the Sherman Oaks Galleria, where they filmed Fast Times and Valley Girl. So has anyone seen this? Is it good?

I have it and it is definitely worth watching for the whole 80s effect and Kelli Maroney. I would have to say that it is a little far fetched, but he isn't that what makes a good horror flick?

I don't know if I recognized the mall as the same but if you say it is then I am sure that it is. I wonder how they pulled it off? A lot must have been done on a sound stage.

Alert: Head of the Class alert: Tony O'Dell?? The cute guy from this sitcom is in this one!

I'd never seen it till last summer. It was pretty good, really short though.

I always thought Brian Robbins was the hot one from Head of the Class. [Wink]

Cindy, if you love the Galleria...and I know you do...then you have to watch "Chopping Mall". Hey a girl like you needs to shop ya know, but please watch out for the new security system they just installed. Like Totally. [Wink]

Kelli Maroney will always be Sam from "Night of the Comet" to me, but it is neat to see her in this movie.

OMG! I never saw this movie ever, and then I saw this post...and then last night...it was on TV. I missed 20 minutes of the beginning. I came in at the place where they were all making out in the furniture store. The guy named "Mike"...who went to get cigarettes for his skanky looking girlfriend...he was pretty cute. That was a gross scene when the robot exploded that girls head off. It was pretty gross, but it was kind of boring me, or maybe I was really tired, cause I couldn't hang in there, and fell asleep...but I know I have seen the 3 other guys in other movies...I am pretty sure the one guy was Kelly's "fiancee" in Breakin 2. I gotta go look it up.

WOW! It was Derek. I knew I saw him somewhere, and I knew the other guy was Russell Todd from Friday the 13th part 2...I have posted his picture on here before...now he's one I would like to see in movies now, cause he is still really good looking.

Tony O'Dell who plays Ferdy Meisel in this movie ...he's really cute too. His picture on IMDB is cute.

That's what I am talking about, about seeing nice looking guys...they were all over the 80's.

I finally got around to watching this one. I have a few thoughts.
First of all, the movie is not great by any measure but there is an appeal to it. I agree with you there Jessie. I truly enjoyed getting to see more of the Galleria. Fast Times only gives you a little bit here and there. I would have killed to have been there and shopped circa 1982 but that's a whole other story.

Second, I thought the cast was alright. The guy you mentioned Isis, Mike, he was really cute. I couldn't place him at first but then it hit me, he was in The Allnighter with Susanna Hoffs. He was CJ I believe and damn, he was fine!

Third, it was cool to see Barbara Crampton as part of the cast. She was in Fraternity Vacation and later on my soap The Young & The Restless.

Finally, I have to agree with Isis, as much as there were some good aspects to this movie, it was on the boring/tedious side. I just had to laugh though everytime one of the Killbots said "Thank you and have a nice day" after annihilating someone. So cheesey!

Devolution here,

A good movie when I saw it when I was 12. Only really remember the head exploding scene. The whole movie could have been much better. The robots were cool though.
